Hi, im going there for 2 weeks I was wondering if there was lots of activities/ things to do near by was it a big beach, lots of shops, restraunts.
@kennykirkwood7 күн бұрын
Hi thanks for watching. There are plenty of small shops, bars and restaurants on Kalamaki main road which is only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The beach is large but there was a lot of seaweed when we were there in May, this may have been cleaned up by now. As for activities I’m not too sure as it was a relaxing week for me so didn’t really get up to much but I’m sure a quick Google might be of more help.

@kennykirkwood6 күн бұрын
There is a taverna just outside the hotel called Escape Taverna, we personally never ate there but heard good reviews from other people. For Greek food I can recommend Zakanthi restaurant, Artigiano, Greek Stories and Ambrosia, really good Greek food and very friendly staff. If it’s a steak your after the Bullhorn Steak House was fantastic, not cheap but the food was very good. Theres a good British pub called the Rose & Crown, that do good beer and cocktails and have tv screens showing the football, sports etc etc. They also have a loyalty card that gets stamped and after you purchase 6 drinks (doesn’t have to be all on the same night!) you’ll get your next drink free. They also do food. There’s plenty of other places to eat and drink but these were the ones I mostly ate at and are only a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel.

Only other very minor gripe that my partner had was with her meal, being vegetarian her meal was served much earlier than the rest of the cabin, so by the time the rest of the cabin was served and were offered a choice of wine she had long finished her meal which she enjoyed. Nice video. Definitely recommend premium on the Dreamliner next time you go..priority check in, first on, first off, bags off first, exec lounge at the airport, bigger seats, more legroom, more width space, complimentary drinks, gifts...allsorts. Plus what is supposed to be your own toilet in the forward cabin but they never seem to enforce this as they should. Can be pricey...but worth it for long haul.

Hi thanks for watching and the tips. We have looked at premium in the past and it always comes down to cost. Why not leave the building as it was. To use your imagination combined with a book guide which could lead you to the castle perhaps. I totally understand the fire extinguishers in some corners. @@kennykirkwood i would have done the same. I did take some home. For a friend and myself to celebrate the finer things in life.
Absolutely! I was going to get him some more when I was in Little Havana in Miami earlier in the year but they were very very expensive
Nice one
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Nice video!
Thanks for watching 👍🏻
I love seeing my coworkers in this
Thanks for watching! Are you ground crew at Melbourne?
Oh by the way. Enjoy your holiday. I’ll pass this year. No holiday for me. Way to busy at work. Very little staff. Gotta keep the engines running.
Already home I’m afraid as this was a couple of weeks ago, still was good to get away and relax. Yeah sometimes you’ve gotta keep the wheels if industry turning!
@@kennykirkwood true. Gotta keep paying the bills also. Love to go to greece one. Not that far away. Like to see what left of their ancient culture
Only been to 2 Greek islands, Zakynthos and Crete and love them both.
@@kennykirkwood must be a welcome sight after a year of workings.
@gerritgreveling yeah I’m very fortunate to be able to travel abroad 2-3 times a year
Haha lovely. The first image i saw was of course Glasgow airport. Which reminded me of 2010 one hour before starting the westhighland way. We opened the curtains and this is what we saw. One happy moment. Rain. This is gonna be one hell of a trip. Positively speaking
Only 2 things that are constant in Scotland, higher taxes and rain! 😂
@@kennykirkwood same here. Its raining cats and dogs over here too at this hour. Short and heavy bursts of water coming. Someone’s crying perhaps.About taxes
It's amazing engineering I have been
Hi thanks for watching. It certainly is!
Couldn’t take my eyes of of it. Very impressive. Had to go back 3 times to let it sink in over coffee in the restaurant. Magnificent. Imagine it cost less energy than a water boiling device for your daily cup of tea. Incredible
It’s a fantastic piece of engineering
@@kennykirkwood say that again. Wonderfull.
This is an absolutely beautiful airport! Very easy to check in and out security is a breeze!!!
Hi thanks for watching. Yeah super efficient on arrival and departure 👍🏻
Impressive aren’t they. Shot some great pictures there
That they are! Only ever seen then whilst driving past, very impressive standing next to them.
@@kennykirkwood you can see from a mile away. A beautiful landmark and pieces of art. Thnks for sharing.
Your very welcome! 👍🏻
@@kennykirkwood my pleasure. Always a pleasure also to be back in Scotland. By video or by plane.
We’ve just come off the Explorer, first time with Marella and we loved it. Sail ins are one of my favourite parts. Lovely video 🍻
Hi, thanks for watching and your comment. I’ve been fortunate to have sailed with Marella on three occasions on three different ships and can’t fault them on anything. And I agree, sail ins are one of my favourite parts as well!
Fascinating collection in Scotland.
Hi thanks for watching. Yeah it’s a place I’ve been wanting to get to for years and never had the chance. We’re so lucky to have our very own Concorde and Vulcan here.
Sadly the Vulcan is visibly rotting away. It’s very sad they can’t do something to preserve it.
@frodorabbit yeah it’s a shame to see m8, can only imagine the cost of preserving her
@@kennykirkwood it was used in operation Black Buck. It is part of history. You’d think some sort of fund raising might be possible. Just to put it under cover at least.
@frodorabbit it’s a fair point, as you say such a historic aircraft should be at least under cover
We tend to go abroad 3-4 times a year and the cost of premium could go a long way towards another trip. We are due to fly long haul again in February to Barbados so might have another look. Thanks again 👍🏻
@@kennykirkwood Ah well in that case...I think I'd prefer the extra holidays :) I went to Barbados on the dreamliner on a caribbean marella cruise with Tui earlier this year, brilliant experience. Have a great time 😎🛩
Cheers. Yeah it’s a Marella Cruise we’re doing as well, looking forward to being on the new ship Voyager.
Thats one great video of a great castle. Thnks for sharing. Really impressive. But there’s always one thing which I don’t like about these very old buildings these days. Don’t get me wrong, I do understand them but it’s like a necessary evil to me. Those way to modern information boards on walls or in corners. To me it’s such a shame. Why not leave the building as it was. To use your imagination combined with a book guide which could lead you to the castle perhaps. I totally understand the fire extinguishers in some corners. But it’s just me i think. However I liked the one hour walk through the castle due to your video so thanks again for sharing. And greetings
Hi, thanks again for watching!
@@kennykirkwood you’re welcome for sure. I’m sorry that I couldn’t react earlier. So very busy these days. Very little staff at work as we speak. And lots of birthdays as well.
Work and family/friends come first 👍🏻
@@kennykirkwood how right you are. Thnks for understanding. Looking forward to the next video.
