This is such an awesome, awesome track! It would be a great music score for a SF movie, esp. for a specific scene: A group of intelligent beings (aliens or humans) have to leave their home planet because it is slowly becoming inhabitable. A lot of the population has already died, their civilization is on the brink of collapse. The survivors use the very last ressources they have to build a spaceship that can take a part of them off the planet. When their civilization was at their peak, it had been travelling to a nearby moon (not frequently, and only for scientific missions - much like our civilization at this point), but they haven't sent anyone to another planet yet. So this time they have to get a lange group of them to the next planet, which their scientists claim can sustain life. It's a one way mission, they don't intend to ever come back. They either try it, even if it's risky & a bit beyond their technological capabilities, but still kinda doable. Or they perish with their home world. The 1st part of the movie is about them planning, debating, designing & building the ship, etc. Maybe also deciding who can travel & who has to be left behind. Because there are, let's say, 5 millions of them left, but the ship can only carry 2 thousand. Just enough to start from scratch & repopulate the new planet. It's a tragedy, and whoever gets picked has to leave most of their loved ones behind, knowing they're as good as dead. This track here is for the space travel scene: The engines starting slowly, the ship leaving atmosphere, the pilots, navigators, engineers, everyone doing their job. Everyone has a specific task during the trip, and they have to work very efficiently if they want to be successful. They can't travel at light speed, and the trip is scheduled for "31" months to get them to the other planet. They brought lots of books & encyclopedias along to "Remember" where they came from & be able to rebuild their civilization (computers wouldn't work, as they won't have a reliable power source for many years). Even if they can land smoothly, there will be a lot of dangers waiting for them (harsh geological & weather conditions, unknown animals, maybe another civilization - they don't really know yet). The first years & decades will be extremely tough. They will have to start almost at Stone Age level, and it will take them a few generations to adapt to their new home world. And this "coming from outer space" story will be slowly turning into a myth. The End.
