    Sure does look like "Christine" has seen better day's. Apparently she's lost the ability to refurbish herself 😢. ❤ the soundtrack though

    This in fact was THE engine that gave Chrysler it's reputation for having the fastest cars as it was in most of the muscle cars in Dodge and Plymouth. Very little mods and you have a motor that stands up against most anything, except a Hemi or 427.

    Cool car ! The image @0:35 is of the unrestored "318 A single 2 barrel" engine with unique factory air breather, Not a "318 2 Carter 4 bbl" as in the vid description. The carbs shown @2:13 ,while not original to your car, were an option in 1958 and do make the car more appealing, imo.

    Thanks!! The car is of my dear friend Antonello, americanautoparts.it - The car was sold new in Milan, and was found in a field, in Milan suburbs... The car was abandoned in 1972 and belonged to a countess, then it was given to her factotum. Maybe she was modified, I don't know. I know that after 10 years of restoration, Antonello brought the car back to the original condition, in 2012.

    Awesome,this is the car my Dad owned in 1962 when I was born except it was white,I don't remember Mama having her own car until they bought a brand new !964 Pontiac Catalina.Daddys' car had a hole about the size of a Kennedy half dollar in the left back floorboard and me and my 2 brothers once I was a toddler would look at the highway or dirt road go by through that hole!LOL!

    In the mid-70's when I was in Jr. High School, my older sister had this car - - hardtop though. It was 1 958 Plymouth Belvedere black in color - but not a convertible. A prior owner had removed the front bench seat and replaced it with what we were told were bucket seats from a Ford Mustang! The Mustang seats were blue, the rest of the interior was red/black combination as in your car. Man alive I loved that car!

  • @LoveMopar
    @LoveMopar6 ай бұрын

    If I understood… you removed the fuel pump, and the pushrod is blocked? If you turn the engine like in the video, the pushrod don’t moves?

    @@LoveMopar thanks for the quick reply. Yes I removed the fuel pump and the push rod is all the way down and won’t move. I did turn the engine and nothing

  • @LoveMopar
    @LoveMopar6 ай бұрын

    Ok, remove the time chaining cover... try to extract the used fuel pump pushrod, that is driven by the camshaft... there is a plug just under the fuel pump opening on the block. Lube the new rod with grease and insert it in the block. The fully installed rod will only have a small portion of the rod showing. Then position the fuel pump into the block making sure the pump lever is seated correctly against the pump rod...

    Restorations photo montages are such great inspiration. I've had a few that started like that- like my '56 Caddy Coupe DeVille -and watching them come together with all those memories of every step of the way rushing back, there's nothin' like it. Makes each and ever cruise that much sweeter.
