  Teller Capture is very efficient and definitely the most customer friendly bank function. The customer can always be happy knowing that their transaction processed and balanced before they leave. The only drawback is that proof operators in operations centers and back offices will be losing their jobs. That's just the harsh reality of jobs being automated, especially jobs that involve repetition. Overall teller capture's advantages outweigh its disadvantages.

  @microwave9099 A purple LED indicator on SmartSource models is a reminder that the scanner has reached its regular cleaning interval, which is usually pre-set at every 7,500 or 10,000 documents, depending on the model. The only way to reset it to blue without editing the firmware configuration files is to run a cleaning cycle by pressing the LED button three times quickly and inserting a cleaning card. The scanner will still function as usual while the light is purple, but it eventually may start to experience jams or misfeeds from dirt buildup on the feed rollers if it's left unaddressed for too long. (Doing the button-press sequence without actually cleaning the scanner will also reset the LED, but for obvious reasons this is not recommended). www.digitalcheck.com/smartsource-scanner-purple-light/

  I have had great conversations with Tom Anderson & Elizabeth in the early days of check truncation in India. I was the CEO of a Indian Banktech company that tied up with DCC.
