❤ Your video is really beautiful and useful. It is a video I watch over and over again, thank you for everything. 🙏 For coloring, you did not explain the general coloring except for coloring the "line". I noticed that you do the coloring in the raster layer. I learned something about it in another video, after all, what's the point of vector work if it's not all vector (line and color)? He does the coloring process using the speech bubble. (It works like in Adobe illustrator) Video name:" How to ink and COLOR with vectors in Clip Studio Paint! | Dadotronic" from CLIP STUDIO PAINT channel
@simondrawsstuff16 күн бұрын
Thank you! The video focuses on lineart, so that's why I did not go into my overall coloring process. The reason I don't use vector layers to color things is that you cannot use the fill bucket on a vector layer. I generally try to already set up my files in a big enough resolution according to my needs; and even if I had to upscale artwork later, my style often deals with flat color fills rather than super detailed work on a coloring layer (which upscales more easily). For these reasons, I am okay not having vector layers on my colors. Using the speech bubble seems like a creative idea! Personally, I really like the fast nature of the fill bucket tool. When making comics, every bit that speeds up the process is helpful!

Heyy, thank you for the tutorial! Would it be best if one was to change the colour profile to CMYK before finishing the artwork? Would the colours look (in theory) the same if it's cmyk from start to finish? Thank you
@simondrawsstuffАй бұрын
If you create the image in CMYK from the start, then yes, the colors will look the same when you export it in RGB. It does limit your color selection, of course. So I think whether that's the best option depends on what you're going for! If you plan on using a lot of bright and vivid colors, and want to primarily share the image online, even if you offer some prints, then it might make sense to work in RGB first, and then optimize for CMYK later. Inversely, if you primarily want to focus on printing your image, and hope to give people an accurate impression of the colors even when looking at the image in your online store, then it might make sense to work in CMYK from the start.

Getting text aligned to the text box feels like a living nightmare. I was hoping this would be something mentioned in this video, but is not. Am I missing something? When I resize the text box, the text moves around unless it's exactly in the center of the box, but there is no way to make sure it is exactly centered, so it's this game of jiggle the box, jiggle the text, jiggle the box, jiggle the text, and so on. Any advice?
@simondrawsstuffАй бұрын
Once you have a text box, pulled up, you can select the entire text in the text box and pull up the "Sub Tool Detail" window (small wrench in the bottom right of the "Tool property" window). Here, go to "Line space/alignment". Select the "Center" Alignment, and select the "Center" Position in frame. Hope this helps you!

Assuming the tool is genuinely missing for you, here's all the steps you might need to take: Open the "Window" > "Tool" window if you don't already have it active. Here, click the burger menu in the top left (the three lines). Select "Add from default...". Select "Selection area" and click OK. Open the "Window" > "Sub Tool" window (if it's not already active). Here, you can choose the "Lasso" tool. Alternatively, if you followed this but do not see the "Lasso" tool in there, you might have (accidentally/unintentionally) removed it. In that case, click the burger menu in the "Sub Tool" window and select "Add from default...". Look for "Selection area" and expand it by clicking it. Now select "Lasso" and press "Add". Hope that helps.
