    From this same album, "End of the Line" and "Overkill 3, Under the Influence" have a lot more singing, and less recitation.

    Shan here :) Studio Korn = Old Korn > New Korn Live Korn = Old Korn < New Korn Def agree with Tim. I saw them in 1998 and 2000, and then again in like.... 2019? They were still good in the 90's, but as far as live performance, they slap live now. For sure.

    About the funk element. Indeed it is in Korn, especially in that era, and a lot of that was thanks to the drummer David Silveria, you can check out his drumming here on a recording session, when played separately it's becoming very cleare how much funk in his drumming. One of the reasons they sound very differently after he left kzread.info/dash/bejne/h3qlxrFwnaecibg.htmlsi=6fh0M6wMwlBNSJMC

    couple things.... 1. i would have introduced mushroom head with a B side track off that first ablum, or honestly 1200 hundred would have been better. 2. i would have liked to see (if youre gonna have such a long intro) more info on the history of the band including jeffery nothing and j mann 3. i would like to say i enjoy what you guys are trying to do (this being my first video from you guys) 4......im sure theres more and please please take all this as constructive criticism. no hating happening here, keep doing what youre doing. Im gonna be the newest sub you have just to follow how you guys progress. cheers

    Thanks for the critiques! You're very polite, so I wouldn't take it as rude! 2. The reason for the long intro was partially due to introducing the week. Whenever we do a themed week of stuff, we tend to ramble. Sadly, it won't be the last time lol. Also, you'll realize soon that we don't do a ton of research unless something current has pulled us to that song. We tend to go into things as blind as possible. 3. Thank you so much!

    I really love this song. It's possible to notice the Punk-HardCore influence in this song. The long accords and stuff like that mixed together with tribal drums. Pretty unic.

    The video makes more sense when you realize that they are using magic as an allegory for queerness. The "God Hates Magic" being the most obvious replacement for the protest signs announcing "God Hates F*gs", getting drawn in by the experienced magicians and learning the tricks in the bedroom, the woman being scandalized by the blatant wand-play...

    I literally saw the Spit album in our local music shop back in 2000, looked at the CD cover, saw 4 badass chicks and bought it without knowing what they even sounded like. Loved the entire album!

    Respectfully, my wife and I absolutely love her and were talking about what Chappell is maybe comparable to. I came up with, it's like Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga, Cyndi Lauper, Alanis Morissette and Kate Bush came together and said let's create someone out of the best parts of us and let her take over the world!! But also, Chappell is Chappell.❤

    It's a Drop C tuning. And Brackish is the song that put Kittie in everyone's face, and the Spit album is what caught the Osbourne's attention and had them co headline the 2nd stage of the Ozzfest festival. They were teenagers here so obviously they have MATURED since this came out 25 years ago. Check out 2024 Kittie!!!

  • @no_onein2024
    @no_onein20248 күн бұрын

    This was the ONLY "nu metal" album Kittie did (Spit). From their 2nd album Oracle forward they went in a more heavy direction w/ black metal style vocals. Brackish was written when singer Morgan was 12. After a 13 year hiatus they JUST released their new album FIRE and it's awesome!!! They came out SWINGING w/ the first single (among 5) called "Eyes Wide Open" which has a groove metal vibe w/ all harsh black metal style vocals from Morgan Lander. So check THAT one out!!!

    Glad to see you are still doing your thing. I like your vibe, RM aside. I have seen this song before. Love it but think I heard to the end ever! I also like Tim Minchin. Also singing comic but Australian. I just came from RM Tiny Desk. RM just released a new album and it is very different and getting lots of critic props. Don't lower your expectations for RM though ;) You might like Lost. I personally like Groin. Turn on the subs if you are doing any music still. Going to look thru your catalogue.
