    Absolutely, two saddle bags are often not enough for a road trip. I purchased a large Saddlemen bag (have a video on it), which I strapped to the back of my bike, and it served me well for a cross-country trip. Now, with a tour pack, I have plenty of space for all my gear.

    Hey there! Yeah, I'm working on my weight, too. My wife says I should move faster when she calls me, but at least she likes my looks, LOL. As for the Harley Davidson, the weight just disappears when you're riding. It's well-balanced at slow speeds, and I absolutely LOVE the classic look. But hey, Harleys aren't for everyone. Luckily, there's a ton of different motorcycles to choose from. As long as you're happy and enjoying the ride, that's what counts. Take care and stay safe!

    Hello Brother! I am honestly impressed with the quality of this tour-pack and have not taken it off since I installed it. I prefer the look of the smaller ones but the King tour-pack gives you so much space and you can lock 2 large helmets in there. Hopefully my wife will be on more since she may be riding with me as she like the tour-pack. The other guy is my daughters fiancé, nice guy. Will ping you when I am in SoCal again... take care and ride safe!

    I buy honda goldwings and have two bikes and honda corporations is very much still in business in 2024, but a 1994 goldwing they don't make parts for anymore but everywhere you look I see 1990 goldwings rolling most dealers only change oil and tires , so if victory is reliable as a honda goldwing it want go to the shop often anyways 🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♂️, when a Harley guy said they have dealerships all over the in country , I say who in hell wants to be broken down while traveling buy something you know is reliable 🤔🤔, I would try one if I had room in garage I wouldn't travel with it that is what goldwing and trailer is for.

  • @CageFreeMoto
    @CageFreeMoto27 күн бұрын

    Thank you for sharing your insights and experiences with Honda Goldwings! It's fantastic to hear about the reliability and joy you've had with your bikes. Victory motorcycles are known for their durability, much like Goldwings, and with proper maintenance, they can provide a dependable ride for many years. Regarding Harley Davidson, it's true that they have an extensive dealership network, which can be reassuring for some riders. This is particularly beneficial for those who travel frequently, as having access to service and support across the country can be a significant advantage. Harley Davidson faced challenges in the 1980s when it was owned by AMF, leading to concerns about reliability. Many people still hold onto that perception today. However, I can share from personal experience that my Harley Davidson Road King has been incredibly reliable. I've ridden it across the country and back, now clocking in at about 30,000 miles, and with regular maintenance, I haven't had any issues. Ultimately, choosing a motorcycle is about finding what suits your needs and preferences best. Victory motorcycles, like Honda Goldwings, are a solid choice for reliability, and Harley Davidson has come a long way in ensuring their bikes are dependable too. Personally, I love all motorcycles and who knows what other brand I might own in the future-maybe a Honda Goldwing, Indian, BMW, or another Harley Davidson. The most important thing is to enjoy being on two wheels and to stay happy and safe as a Cage Free Moto.

    Coming from a Harley sportster, that I still own. I test drove a lotta different Harley models when the demo truck would come to town. I always saw myself coming back to the road king. So it was no surprise to me, when one of my buddies bought a brand new 2019 road king special from the local dealer. Told me he was tired of it and wanted something different, he took excellent care of it and had a real good price on it. So now it sits in my garage. Well it doesn’t exactly just sit there. I think when I got the bike it had 4500 miles on it and now it has 30,068 miles on it. I still have my sportster and I do ride it. Just not as much as a road king.

    I am approximately 3 inches taller than you and have a heavier build, and I've found that my bike performs excellently when riding solo. Currently, I ride a Harley Davidson with a 107 cubic inch (1753.42 cc) engine. Recently, my wife began joining me on rides, and I've noticed a desire for more power, likely because I'm accustomed to the feel of solo riding. For local trips around town or leisurely cruising, the Vulcan 900 should suffice when riding with your wife. However, based on my experience, if I had known that my wife would be riding with me regularly, I would have opted for a model with more power from the start. I originally purchased my Vulcan as a re-entry motorcycle, thinking it would be my permanent choice, and it is indeed a great bike. However, for two-up riding on the freeway, you might find yourself needing more acceleration and power for those conditions.

    I wouldn't call it a "beginner bike". It is a great bike to start on though. Light, low center of gravity, and controllable power. It can also last you forever as it can do everything a bigger bike can do. I've been riding for 15 years and I'm thinking about buying this bike to add to my stable. Light cruisers are great bikes. I've owned cruisers with engines from 650 all the way up to 1900. I would never buy a 650 again though. Only exception being the Vulcan 650. Vulcan 650 is a special bike. Cross breed between a cruiser and sport bike.

    I've been riding Vulcans since 2007. I had a 1500 Classic for 6 years (60,000 miles), a 1600 Nomad for 10 years (33,000), and I'm now on a 1,600 Classic. And I've spent a lot of time on Vulcan forums. Here's my 2 cents. The Vulcan 900 dupes a lot of guys. It has a big frame, so they get on it and think it's a big bike. They buy it and within a few weeks they're on the forums complaining about the power. It's a 900, and it has the power of a 900. And changing pulleys and adding an air kit is not going to turn it into a 1500. On the freeway they are revving so high you can hear them coming a mile away. Don't believe anyone who tells you they are "freeway worthy." No 900 V-Twin is meant to be cruising at 75 mph for hours at a time. It's a good beginner's bike; ride it for a year, build up your skills, and if you want to tour, then trade up. Again, just my 2 cents.

    I have a 2016 XCT and recently went on a long trip with my wife and bike starting sputtering drastically, fortunately it ran better for enough time to get us home. So that experience made me think how risky it could be to ride long distances on a Victory since nearly nobody will work on them other than tire changes and oil changes. If we ended up stranded hundreds of miles from home, where would we have the bike towed to to get it repaired!? I am now considering trading in for a Harley Davidson which virtually any motorcycle shop will work on.

  • @CageFreeMoto
    @CageFreeMoto2 ай бұрын

    The Victory XCT is a beautiful motorcycle, and you raise an excellent point. I've heard that Victory bikes are easy to work on and parts are available. However, if you encounter an issue while on a road trip, even if the bike manages to get you home, it can be a concerning experience. Finding a shop that will service a Victory motorcycle can be challenging. Will Indian motorcycle shops work on it? Possibly, but for me, that uncertainty is a risk I may not want to take. I prefer the peace of mind that comes with knowing Harley-Davidson bikes can be serviced almost anywhere. I am very happy with my Harley-Davidson Road King and would definitely buy another Harley-Davidson. Aside from normal wear items, I haven't had any issues with it. I'm glad you and your wife arrived home safely. Please update us when you buy your next motorcycle, whether it's an HD or not. Take care and stay safe.

    I experienced vibrations when squeezing the front brake and had heard that it could be due to a warped rotor. I have ridden the bike quite hard in the twisties, braking into curves. At 30,000 miles, the brakes needed to be replaced, along with the bearings and spacers. I'm glad it has all been addressed. Your questions made me reconsider if there was a single root problem, and after some reflection, I realized that everything I mentioned in the video contributed to the issue. Thank you for prompting me to think more deeply about it.
