The biggest thing the movie has over the TV version-besides tons better acting-is that they really fleshout the characters more. The near fight between "Davis" and the father who own the Messenger service after "Davis" broke up the tic-tac-toe was more realistic than the first movie!😅 One difference the "Stock broker" was the one who threatened the "ultra-racist" that he would break his skull if he didn't shut up! And the racist later returned to the main table! The Slum guy really defended the immigrant from the "lite-racist" in this one! And it was the blue collar guy who brought up the glasses thing, no the old guy McCardle.

Thank you so much for giving people like me the chance to be the intellectual I wish I were. The brilliant dialogue and deep honest inner thoughts make this stand out to me as something to be proud of the time when Americans were willing to be truly and deeply brilliant!!! Of course, we still have PBS and David Attenborough and the writings of brilliant minds like Stephen Hawking,; but as long as writings of Confucius, Plato, etc., certain beings in our greedy, destructive species have always thought with truth and depth. Bravo!!

Most of the shortcomings of this version compared to the 1957 version I am willing to give a pass since this is a live television version. But I have to say I have a problem with the casting. The jurors in 1957 were much more diverse in look and the way they acted. If I didn't know the story and the roles already, I would have been barely able to tell many of them apart here.

I agree. Too many suits continually worn. Even though the 1957 version was still twelve white males, the differences in costume did convey a lot more characterization.

My usual question is,why didn’t this original version (and better) get the airplays and promotion like the best selling copy? Maybe publishing company can answer?

Because the more popular version was played on the TV and radio more often, meaning more people knew about than this one.
