    Is this the aigma 35mm prime or 18-35?

  • @JosephMcBrayer
    @JosephMcBrayerАй бұрын

    Yes, it’s the Sigma 35mm f/1.4prime on bmpcc6k. The widest mm you can use on a super 35 sensor with the moment adapter is a 35mm. (50mm on full frame).

  • @JosephMcBrayer
    @JosephMcBrayerАй бұрын

    I’ve not tried it on the 18-35 but the moment anamorphic adapter info says that with zoom lenses it needs to be more like 50mm. It could work on the 18-35mm at 35mm? (If I can try it on the 18-35mm this week I’ll give it a shot and send a screenshot maybe)

    @@JosephMcBrayer Let me know how it goes. My suspicion is, it won't work. The 18-35 is an aps-c lens and I think the 35 prime is a full frame lens.

    That’s interesting (and I’m sure frustrating!). I’ve not had that problem before. Does it happen with other screw mount lenses? Isn't ef-s lens saves the focus distance? Won't 24mm be 24mm? I thought that only ef lenses need to be counted with a crop factor

  • @JosephMcBrayer
    @JosephMcBrayer6 ай бұрын

    It is my understanding that 24mm is relative to full frame. So it is cropped by the camera sensor size (super 35 on the Bmpcc 6k) so ~1.55X for the Bmpcc 6k which is close to 37 or 38mm equivalent on full frame. Ef-s placed on a full frame would have significant vignetting and can be done (like the sigma 18-35mm on a full frame canon ef-rf mount Eos R or R6 but it does have significant vignetting and very dark corners. Hope that’s helpful.

    Yes, I used to have the tokina 11-16 f/2.8 when I had a canon 60D and it was a great lens for aps-c! So it should fit well on the 6K. The gimbal does make things so smooth and then a *little* gyro stabilization in DaVinci feels just right. I used the DJI Ronin-S for a long time and still use it for projects in addition to the rs2. Biggest difference on the RS2 is the tracking of subjects and pulling focus with LiDAR-both of which are great for me as I am often filming myself and a solo filmer most days. I think the wobble has some relation to the rolling shutter of the camera. I bet it's not as pronounced in 4k 60p, or 1080p. I notice 24p on my R6 has worse rolling shutter than 24p. It does look a lot better though after the update. I think adding more weight to the camera or using a gimbal would help a lot. The 16mm weighs nothing on lightweight camera, which helps the camera shake around as you walk and record.

  • @JosephMcBrayer
    @JosephMcBrayer8 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the reply here. Yes, using a gimbal certainly helps minimize movement. A big part of the appeal of this setup is the light weight factor, so adding weight while it will help stabilize the camera is a drawback of the minimalist weight setup. Hello, I have a Nikon Z6, and I primarily use it for shooting weddings, real estate, and hotel advertising. I'm planning to upgrade my equipment, and I'm considering getting the Blackmagic 6K full-frame cinema camera. What is your opinion?

  • @JosephMcBrayer
    @JosephMcBrayer8 ай бұрын

    Hey thanks for asking here-I don’t know the Nikon Z6, but I use the canon R6, which is a similar capacity photo/video full frame mirrorless. A few thoughts: 1) the new full frame blackmagic camera will be excellent for video, but he’s not used for still photography. So that’s a very different type of thing. 2) the black magic cinema camera is a full manual focus camera, which would be a big difference from the auto focus present in our Cannon/Nikon systems. So unless you’re experienced in other ways with manual, focus, that’s going to be one of the biggest things for you to consider. In wedding videography there are many things that happen only once and if it’s out of focus, then that’s bad for your client and ultimately, the bottom line. 3) Additionally, lenses for the L mount system are going to be different than your current Nikon set up. (I use a lot of EF glass adapted on canon mirrorless & is native to the Pocket 6k pro) 4) I do think the video image will be superior and look much more cinematic on the black magic camera, but it’s a very different system than Nikon, as well as editing in b raw as opposed to h.264/265 from Nikon.

    If you set up color management in Resolve (Search for Cullen Kelly he pretty much wrote the book on color management in Resolve) it will give you a base grade as soon as it's on the timeline.. I use BRAW and it's so fast and flexible compared to PREZ and the color tools in DR are world class.

    I used final cut for the first time today it took me like 20 minutes to get all my usual cutting and basic stuff the button layouts the same so it's really easy to adapt to DaVinci this is a DaVinci user talking by the way😅

    Hey thanks for the daVinci encouragement! I do use it for basic color grading of b raw and just need to jump all the way in. Ha. Glad to hear of your experience with fcpx too. Thanks again.

    I hate that I’m so excited about this thing but I think it’s going to surprise a lot of people.
