Amir MTB - weekly videos!
Amir MTB is a collection of raw and edited footage from my mountain bike rides. I'm a decent rider but far from pro, so these trails and the riding should be approachable to a large audience. I don't hide my excitement of riding these amazing places! Share any questions, suggestions, or kind words in the comments.
I'll be racing the Downieville Classic 2024 this year. If you'd like to support trail stewardship in the Sierras, please follow this link: www.pledgereg.com/5020/amirh Thanks!
I currently have the GoPro Hero 9 and an Insta360 Ace Pro cameras. If you like the videos, please subscribe to get notified of new ones, and also share with your friends - whether they ride or not. I try and post several videos a week (weather permitting).

Nice! One on the left is better 😉
Pretty sick lol what was his time
@jaynasty7 IDK his time (I compared to his video and don't follow him on Strava) but my PR there is 1:09, he's 11 seconds faster and probably has another second if we compare from the very top. So I'm guessing he's at 0:57 seconds. BUT this was only his 2nd time ever on that trail...
Definitely a place for an e-bike that fire road is no joke!
@orangeglovesmtb you said it! Even with the ebike if I'm in ECO I'm definitely feeling the legs at the end of the climb
Fast guy for sure but you did well!
Nice lap that drop is getting big I went once on my e-bike had a hard time slowing down to make the turn
Yeah I think with time the dirt is just getting deeper every season, this time I felt I'm going over the berm so lost the rear getting too aggressive on the brakes
👍🏾 nice
Nice!
JUST SUBSCRIBED Amir !!!Thats a skillful ride man !!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much for the sub and the kind words!
Hi Amir, I have been watching your videos for a while now and have subscribed. I know most of the trails in UCSC, but this one I don't know. Is it located near Dusty's?
Yes, it's slightly before Dusty's on the way there, before Ninja if you're familiar with that one
Haven’t ridden it in awhile. Can’t wait to check it out!
You should - it's getting better every month!
@@amir_mtb most likely tomorrow!
Fun trail. Need better brakes. Codes are crap on an ebike. Ditched mine for Magura MT7's with Hope rotors and Jagwire "Red" pads. All day power without a sound.
Thanks. I run Codes on my 3 bikes because I prefer a consistent feel, so it's a more involved process for me to switch. There's also no good way for me to "test drive" them unless I ride another bike - and then the entire feeling is different.
Nice and fast! How did you score on Strava?
@dorlaor it's my fast time on an e-bike (would've shaved more w/o the mud patch in minute 1), but not my fastest time ever - the Enduro is still faster on this trail. Also, to really shave 10s of seconds I'd have to skip all the jumps they slow everything down (but then Braille becomes Dull, so I never do it)
@@amir_mtb I see you got over the 300 subscribers hurdle. From here to 1M it's an easy ride
@@dorlaor 🤞
Toro is a lil gem of a place
explore 220 rotors MDP magura rotors and blue gaffers' pads pads ..it will give you better breaking for these nasty ones
Interesting, if I don't have to change the Codes then that's an easier thing for me to test. I'll give it a go!
Holding on for dear life. Really? Smh nice trail but why clickbait
Didn't mean to bait (and that's not the goal of this channel). I held myself up against those trees, it felt for a short second like if I didn't I would take a very rough fall
At 56 years old this is exactly why I wear shin/knee and elbow protection every trip into the woods. A small mishap and an elbow into a tree or a knee into a rock leaving me unable to ride for weeks isn't worth it...great video!
Thanks! Yes I wear knee and recently elbow, maybe I should add lightweight shin to the arsenal. But as summer is approaching I try to reduce the stuff I wear
@@amir_mtb I like my G-Form knee pads, they have shin pads built in and they’re pretty lightweight and cool for summer riding…expensive, but nice.
Buddy,learn to ride.
Ha! Love those internet trolls, ever since their training wheels got taken away they gave up on the bike and just troll all day. Sounds familiar? 🤣
@greglovelace7689 post some clips then talk buddy
Are you Sure that's even a trail!?
Haha yes very sure!
What a dreamy place .. looks steep !
When you come and visit I promise to take you here!
The fall wasn't impressive but the rest of the single is
Agree it doesn't look like much - but I can tell you if I stayed on the bike there would be a helicopter needed... 😱
38? 😂
Who were you honking at? 😂😂 Good run...
@USCgEEk 😂 I was alerting all the squirrels to get out of the way!! ;)
It would be cool to know where in the world this is
@@MTNMAX88it’s a secret
@@152killa oh ok, so the 38% average grade is made up
מסלול מגניב 🤘
Dude let go of your brakes
You both seem fast. I just rode this one yesterday and it’s running great. Will time myself next time to see how I compare :)
Have fun! If you want to go fastest some jumps can be skipped, but I think this trail is most fun to hit everything
@@amir_mtb thank you! I’m still new-ish to mtb and this trail has been great for my current skill level. Just recently started hitting everything, including the doubles. Very addicting. Do you do rider coaching?
@@kevk0221 ha yes it is very addicting, nothing like progression! No, I've never done coaching, and wouldn't be the best person to coach - many mistakes are still ingrained in my riding :) But getting a certified coach is a great idea, especially if you're new to the sport - before you pick up bad habits :)
Beautiful
More vids of my backyard, yay 😁. OMG bad luck with those flies and a hornet! Sheesh...I'm a local and neither has happened to me (yet). There do seem to be a lot more bugs lately tho!
yeah I need to wear my sealed googles to those place (mine have vents around the lens, with enough bugs they'll get in). Beautiful scenery, it was my first time on Amanita
@@amir_mtb Lower Amanita is one of my local faves...short but fun.
Welcome to my backyard :)
Cool
Promo-SM
What city?
Always remember to send it and let them brakes go🙏🏾🥵
haha love it!
Thanks for posting your videos. Fun to watch!
Thanks for the kind comment!
Is this out there off empire grade?
@@kevk0221 yes that's the general area. Never done it before I'm only familiar with the main trails
Nice. I just ordered a Heckler SL (first emtb) and plan to venture out a bit more once I get it. Hope to see you out there!
@@kevk0221 that's probably the best light emtb on the market right now, and perfect for UCSC!
what camera are you using?
I'm using an Insta360 Ace Pro, in 4k 24fps, action mode, "PureView" with image stabilization. All this on a chest mount
What's the name of this trail? I don't recognize it.
I've been asked by the builders not to disclose the name or post on Strava, and I honor that request.
Good save! We need to link up for a ride soon
Thanks yes we should!
❤
What's the location of this trail
Look and you shell find
Prolly didn't look at that cyclometer once. 😊
😂
Have you ever had any issues riding your emtb in demo?
Not that I recall - btw this isn't Demo, jfyi
What ebike???
It's the Specialized Kenevo-SL ebike. Great on the descents!
Hit the Boost button...😁😉
🤣
❤❤
Wasn't completely dry, but wasn't too bad!
Great videos! Do you have Strava or Trailforks where you can share those routes?
Thanks! My Strava is private and that's what gives the builders confidence to share the good stuff with me. I try not to expose unsanctioned trails. This one (middle ridge) is sanctioned and on trailforks and IMO one of the best downhills out there
❤ !!!
I love following people like that. Prepares you for everything.
That trail sucks don’t ride there
hey, im one of the locals that digs here, can you at least edit the parts where you come out to the road? And not include the location in the title?
Done
That looks wet and greasy
@peet013 you need to bring me here bro🤙
