Sean Pendlebury

Sean Pendlebury

Welcome to the channel. Here you will watch me strip down a 2002 Saxo VTS 16v Mk2.
I'll restore everything I possibly can showing you the process and provide some how-to guides. You'll see welding, zinc plating, powder coating, painting and general tidying!
Eventually rebuilding the vehicle back up to a running condition.

The end goal is to have a fast road and track based car.
Engine spec will be boosted. Turbocharged, with forged Internals and all the associated added extra's that are required.
I'm aiming for 350bhp and ~800kgs GVW.

Subscribe and join me on the journey from initial purchase to the end result.

How's the vibration with the Baker engine mounts? Keep breaking the screws on mine with the stock one but afraid those will be too hard to road use.

It’s worth it, it will be very noticeable at first but they bed in nicely over time, I’d start by fitting a stiffer bushing (like powerflex black) in the lower torque mount first as that may stop you from snapping the bolt in the top engine mount. The buffer that goes under the top mount can be filled with silicone etc to help support the standard mount.

watching this for inspiration. I've just picked up a VTS lump to put in my VTR (blew the engine). It's currently at the garage where I know they'll do high quality work but they're looking to charge me a day rate to do it and they're not able to do it till the 1st Aug as they're fully booked. I really don't have that money right now. Considering doing it myself so using this video as inspiration. Relatively new to cars so not sure if ill tackle it

Equally, would love the luxury of being able to paint the engine bay. Nothing crazy but just rust protection etc as she's getting on in age as all saxos are. Can't do that if anyone elsedoes it

Great video hard work paying off 👍. There must be a fix to the brembo squeal, i here it alot from the 406 coupe brembo calipers, there must be a solution, looking at getting some for my 106 gti when i finished rebuilding it. Or should i stick to standard calipers and race pads.

  • @SeanPendlebury
