It was the day were due to record R.I.P for the Young Limbs Numb Hymns Batcave LP. Me, Yaxi and Mrs Fiend were already at the studio and we were waiting for Nik to finish work and arrive, he was a TV and electrical delivery lorry driver, Luton box van type. Me, Mrs F and Yaxi had left our jobs by then. Anyway, he was unloading and was opening his rear shutters when 4 hardnuts jumped him, wrapped him up in diesel soaked sacks and bundled him into the lorry. He was driven off with a knife in his ribs and told to shut up or they'd do him in. They emptied the truck first, then Nik heard one of them saying that they should torch the lorry with Nik in the back. The others didn't agree and left him there locked up. Nik was terrified as you can imagine and stayed there for about 2 hours in case they came back. Then he managed to free himself and the only way he could see to get out was to hold his lighter up against the fibre glass air vent in the roof of the truck. A bit dicey as he was smeared with diesel. He shouted for help and a woman heard him and called the police and ambulance. The paramedics got there first and released him, checked him out and stuck him on a trolley. As they were wheeling him to the ambulance, the old bill turned up, pulled him off the trolley and took him to the police station. They thought he was involved in the robbery and questioned him for 3 hours. We were all at the studio in Soho waiting for him to turn up, he did eventually, about 4 hours late and went straight in and did the vocal track. It was this incident that decided it for Nik.... to give up work and do the band full-time. He was on tranquilizers for 6 months and often had flashbacks and panic attacks. But he delivered a cracking vocal and paved the way for continued Fiend mayhem, respect to him for that. Johnnie Ha Ha, Alien Sex Fiend.

Ottimo album, Vanadium Grandiosi (secondo i miei miserabili Gusti). I Purple nostrani, Fanculo ai recensori europeisti, che li hanno stroncati, solo perché erano Superiori a tante band loro connazionali. Ho odiato questi ‘’personaggi’’ ma li ho perdonati, anche grazie a Pino, che fa tanto casino, ma dimentica e perdona gli str…zi, più di quello che crediamo. Vanadium forever🤟

A mate from college lent me this album back in the mid 80s. Hated it, but I loved the album name. I always thought if I ever created a punk album I'd call it 'Pierced Clits and Tattooed Tits' in honor of this album name.
