  Surprised Greece has a large Air Force. Now modernized to keep up its end in NATO. They have a lot of shoreline to protect so it’s vital to have a powerful fighter group in that area .

  I will tell you a cool fact that I learned from a GROM soldier. Namely, when the British SAS trained together with GROM, they preferred to train with GROM, and when NAVY SELAS also trained with GROM, they also preferred to work with GROM rather than SAS. There must be something to it.

  The video is not entirely fictitious, but it does make innacurate claims. Hypersonic glide vehicles could easily manage mach 27 and long ranges. Their primary advantage is the ability to travel low and fast, while maneuvering. For the vast majoriry of the trip, this makes an HGV hard to accurately intercept. However, they're fundamentally limited. To strike the target, the HGV will have to descend back into the deep atmosphere. This creates insane amounts of drag. Additionally, it creates compressive reentry heating, which will create a plasma envelope. This makes communication with the warhead impossible, and sensors useless. For the final, terminal phase, the missile must eituer rely on innertial guidance, or fly in a relative straight path due to this blindness. The weakness is compounded by the increased pressure and strain. To maneuver in the terminal aporoach to the target, it would have to either slow down to not be shredded, and become vulnerable to standard missile defense systems, or fly in a comparatively straight (ish) path, while maintaining high speed, which makes them sitting ducks to terminal phase ABMs. The plasma envelope during terminal approach is also easy to detect. In summary, the missile could very well fly sporadically and unpredictably, but to deliver an effective nuclear blast, it still needs to enter a terminal phase and descend. It either creates a plasma envelope, making it detectable, or slows down. As it nears the target, it either continues flying fast, with limited maneuverability, or slows down to retain maneuverability and target visibility. In both situations, regular terminal phase interception techniques available now or in the immediate future would have a fighting chance. They are a huge threat to both sides, but the inherent limitations of physics and aerodynamics mean that any HGV, made by Russia, China, the USA, Britain, Pakistan, India, North Korea, or any other goddamn country would still be fallible, and have exploitable weaknesses. Uninterrceptible is a fallacy, and it has been shown time and time again.
