    So glad I found this video in my feed! I love thrifting, little free libraries, and Shady Hollow is on my TBR cart and I’m hoping to get to it soon. This was so cozy and you had some great finds! 😊 Oh and I hope the rest of your pregnancy is super smooth and healthy! I have an 11 month old daughter, but the pregnant and newborn stage still feels very fresh haha

    Thank you for posting this video, all of your information saved me as my husband and I plan out potentially using cloth diapers. I wanted to lower our carbon footprint in some way by using cloth, but it was somewhat difficult to make a decision when narrowing down to these two options.

    I gave birth 2 and a half weeks ago and had to get the balloon catheter placed and it was the worst most painful thing I've ever felt in my life. I still remember my screams and the agony I felt. Just pure suffering. I felt like killing myself to end the suffering and pain that's how bad the balloon induction was. The contractions came on immediately in seconds and strong. More agony. The epidural couldn't come soon enough. After that labor was super easy. Not totally painless or uncomfortable but definitely manageable. I'd give labor 10x over before I get a balloon of induction again. If I have one piece of advice for any lady out there needing to get the balloon induction it is to get an epidural BEFORE they place it.

    Hello, did your foley balloon come out on its own or you have to cut the tube to deflate it? Currently have it in me right now and it's been 7hrs already since I have it. Im starting to get worried coz I'd prefer it to come out on its own as it means that I'll be more dilated. 😢😊 😢

    I am new to cloth diapering and recently purchased Esembly. Is it normal that the inners are super soaked? I also noticed that causes my newborn to have a lot of imprints and marking on his skin. Is that typical for cloth diapers

  • @xoxoxlittlej
    @xoxoxlittlej2 жыл бұрын

    Yes it's normal for the inners to be soaked. The outers should stay dry as long as the inners are tucked inside correctly. If you are experiencing wetness on the outers you may want to add an extra insert or change the diaper more frequently. I noticed that when I introduced water to my daughter she peed a lot more and I had to change her more often. Also as you use the cloth diapers they absorb a lot more. I always hang dry the inners and Esembly reccomends drying the outers in the Dryer ever once in a while to maintain the moisture wicking property. And yes the imprints are also normal. I notice them on the Noras Nursery diapers too. You can always try loosening the diaper by one snap-just to see if it still keeps the pee/poop in while giving extra room. I used to worry about it but my daughter never seemed uncomfortable. The elastic is meant to be adjustable and form fitting. Hope this helps!

    Reusable wipes are far better than disposables. Ever since I made the switch I feel grossed when I need to use a disposable wipe. I washed some of the disposable wipes in the washer and used them as diaper liners for poop. Edited to add: I don't pre-wet the wipes. Just keep a peri bottle with water only, and wet 1 or two wipes every time before changing the diaper. I also use them to wipe the baby's body sparingly every night before bed in between showers. Or wipe boogers. They're just so awesome. I have 1 pack from GroVia and also made my own from a flannel flat sheet that I never used.

    If you don't have the diaper sprayer and want to try and see if it is worth the purchase, try using your flexible shower head in the bath tub (the water goes in the same place as the toilet contents) and just wash well the tub afterwards. Many moms do that.

    I know this was 1y ago... but instead of placing two microfibre inserts in Nora's Nursery pockets (or two bamboo) try 1 bamboo and 1 hemp/cotton blend. They're miraculous. Geffen baby boosters are my faves.

    It's really nice to hear a first hand account of an induction via foley balloon that doesn't involve a horror story! I have been educating myself for months on inductions and all the different methods, and now that I'm officially scheduled for mine, I know now that it will be via foley balloon (the one method I was the least comfortable with). Any videos on the topic are full of comments saying how it's the worst pain ever experienced, worse than pushing baby out without an epidural, how anyone being recommended induction this way should refuse it! It had me so scared! Thank you for making this video and explaining your experience honestly and thoroughly. I don't doubt the experiences of those in the comment section of other videos, but it is nice to hear a more positive side of the story!

  • @xoxoxlittlej
    @xoxoxlittlej2 жыл бұрын

    I'm so glad that this video helped you! I agree that there are a lot of horror stories out there and everyone goes through different experiences. But I think its best to put yourself in a good mindset and go into it positively instead of worrying about pain.

  • @tashpointohhh

    @@xoxoxlittlej I completely agree! The idea of "refusing" a method being recommended by my team of doctors was not even an option to consider. I'd rather go in open minded and thinking positively about how this method will (hopefully) progress labor in a way that keeps me and baby safe and avoids c-section if at all possible. 🤞

    Induced last night at 8pm. Today I'm 39+1 and I had two pills inserted in me 4 hours apart and it got me from 1cm to 2cm and it's 7am. Dr decided to put Foley balloon to progress me to at least 3 or 4cm soon. Hopefully she's right. At 8am it will be 12 hrs I've been here and contractions are every 2mins as of now

    My baby is 1 week 4 days old today. The foley balloon helped me progress from 1 cm to 5 cm in 1 hr. Once they took the balloon out to give me the epidural. I progressed slowly. I delivered my son at 9:47pm that day. Honestly ill def' be asking for the foley balloon again if i decide to have more kids in the future and if friends are expecting ill recommend 100% if they need help with dialation.

    I used the disposable liners and throw them away....definitely helps minimize the poop mess.
