  Is the processing of canola oil a little bit gross? Probably.. but do I care? absolutely not...! Eat whatever you want in moderation dude!!   This rapeseed garbage is absolutely everywhere now. Cereal, potato chips, crackers, eggo waffles, fish sticks, pizza crusts. Virtually all restaurants use it as their fryer and grill oil because it's cheap. I developed an intense intolerance to this oil many years ago and it's gotten so hard to avoid. Meanwhile, coconut oil gives me zero problems. My research indicates there is a dramatic difference in oxidative resistance between coconut and other oils, it is robust as hell and refuses to break down even when reaching smoking point.

  Hexane, which is a petrochemical used to extract the oils not just from canola but other types of beans such as soy etc. Definitely don't want to be consuming too much of these products.
