How long does it take to boot when turning the vehicle on? If it's running CarPlay when the vehicle turns off, will it boot up automatically to CarPlay the next time the car turns on (assuming the same phone is available to connect)? I'm interested in the settings menu for the Lexus units if there's an operating manual available.

It boots similarly quickly to the factory unit. If you have carplay running and turn if off, you will need to push the carplay icon again on the screen. You can hold the menu button for two seconds at any time to revert to your factory interface to access vehicle settings.

This seems like a much better option than the other choices out there like beats sonic (not compatible with my 14 because I don’t have the built in nav). Is this a pretty quick install that changes out just the screen or do you have to get access to the back of the unit below the air vents?

You do have to plug in some connectors behind the climate control center panel. We have a complete installation manual and it is not a very difficult installation.

For next design upgrade in order to increase the screen size, you may move the air vents a little more downward. You could also omit the button pannel. To upgrade the unit you can even use free space at the bottom of the unit on the top of the AC knobs.

Me and a few other guys with 2015 RC models are considering new nav unit since they are almost 10 years old now. Think you can make an install video and also show how much of the org functions remain ex. Backup camera, parking sensors display, making calls and answering calls etc

Ordered mine, came in about 4 days ago. Install was easy. Head-unit works phenomenal. Very responsive and loaded extremely quickly as soon as the car turns on. CarPlay for either Apple or android loads extremely faster than my older T10 head-unit. Looks amazing and is a total upgrade. I hope to be able to find some screen protector or this though. I still have the factory film cover on the screen until I can find something to use as a screen protector. I highly recommend this head unit!!!
