I very much appreciate you uploading these photos. My dad was born in those short nine years of the Edwardian era - he was born in 1905 in the Bay of Plenty. I share in the passion for our history.

"Colombo 1870 to 1960, Rear Unseen Historical Photographs of Colombo, Sri Lanka" I watched this video and firstly i want to thank you for the effort of making it! But i want to mention herewith that there are several mistakes of the photo slides or the Titles in this video. It seems that some of the Titles are written here without any proper knowledge of the respective subject. There are some spelling mistakes also. Some of the mistakes are just minor mistakes but some are not so. I like to point out them as follows:- The video moves too fast for us to view each photo slide in details. At 0.18 - "Buddhist temples in Colombo 1885" - This building does not look like any buddhist temple in Colombo. I think the photograph is wrong. At 0.23- "Old Clock tower 1890" - Where is the clock!? Was this the clock tower or the bell tower? At 01.18- "The old General Post Office in President's Mawatha (Janadhipathi Mawatha)" - This was called 'Queen Street' and not Janadhipathi Mawatha or President's Mawatha at that time. At 01.55 and 02.08 - "Grand Oriental Hotel in Colombo" - Both buildings does not resemble the same, so i think there is a mistake of both these photos being Grand Oriental Hotel. At 02.26 - "Four Sinhalese Devil Dancers in Ritual Sri Lankan Dance 1880" - This title is completely wrong as they were not Devil Dancers at all. Devil dancers always wear different devil masks for their performances and in this photo we cannot see any of those masks or any representing costumes. Therefore the title of this photograph is completely wrong and misleading. We can clearly see that all the dancers in this photograph were not wearing any masks. They were all wearing the traditional Sri Lankan up-country dancing costumes with headgear. So this title must be corrected to read as " Four Sinhalese Traditional Dancers". The title writing is done here without any proper knowledge of the subject. At 03.22 - "Street View in Colombo 1870" - What was the name of the street? At 03.51 - "Street Scene in Colombo 1890" - Which street!? At 04.02 - "Road Scene in Sri Lanka 1880" - Which road!? Its not "Sri lanka" but its "Ceylon". At 05.49 - "Light House in Colombo" - A Light House in the middle of the road!? It was not possible. I think that this is the Clock Tower in the middle of the road in formerly Queen Street and Chatham Street junction in Colombo - 01. Please be good enough to correct these mistakes. Then it will be more satisfactory and authentic. Thank you!

how come in the beginning it said 1980 to 1950 this video didn't show anything what Auckland looked like in the 1980s my uncle was a Sargent with the Auckland police force from the 1970s to 1988 before that my uncle served in Korea 1950 to 1953 with New Zealand Ex prime Minister (Sir Robert Moulton) because he happens to be New Zealand only prime Minister to ever serve this country During the war in North Korea and serving the county years Later as prime Minister so really the internet doesn't show us much at all I've been looking for different things for years but nothing.

Such a shame Colombo has turned into such a smelly, grotty, over populated hole now. I wish the Sri Lankan people of today loved their country in a way where they respect the natural beauty that Sri Lanka has
