Great show
Thank you ! I appreciate the kind words , Thank you for watching Eric !
I caught a skate on a 1” gulp minnow on a 1/32 oz jig head fishing for perch, I thought I snagged him but it was in his mouth, it’s crazy what stuff will chase down
@@GoonieGooGoo410 that's great! This is why we fish ..we never know what's coming
No flounders? Coney Island is full of them
Not on this day lol , I'll get some next time I'm there 👍🏻TY for watching !
That one fish was a sand perch.
Thank you !
nice video
did he bail on your one reel break off or did you purposely remove the metal ring? Awesome video!
So that reel comes with a bail however I had it converted to Bailess ..it's a preference thing
@@Exploremorefishing any reason for the preference? me and a buddy were watching the video and have been trying to figure it out. Its a neat new concept to us
Lol great question, so the best part about having a bailess reel is it prevents you from accidentally casting an expensive lure out and it flying into the ocean , sometimes the bail flips over accidentally and it causes your whole rig/ lure to snap off ...it's happened to me plenty of times 😀 one less mechanical issue to worry about, hope this makes sense
Awesome your in my turf... Get outta here there isnt room for any more fishermen. Im just playing glad to see you enjoying some MD fishing...👍🤘
Maryland anglers were really good to me ..I appreciate the love ✌🏻if your ever up north I got you big bro ✌🏻
@@Exploremorefishing I'm glad they showed you some hospitality. I'll keep that in mind if I'm ever up that way. 👍🏼
Only ones I catch off the surface during summer is skate whiting and spot, small flounder if close to the inlet
All fun to catch 👍🏻thanks for watching
That is a spot not a spot croaker. They are 2 separate species.
There are 2 croakers , spot croakers and Atlantic croakers , yes 2 different species ...spot croakers are often called spots ...Atlantic croakers are often called croakers , thank you for watching
Spot and Croaker are two totally different fish. Lol
Yes 2 different species ..I believe they are both croakers , one is called a Spot croaker and the other is an Atlantic croaker
that weakfish usually have 2 teeth there great eating fish also called sea trout here
Yes 👍🏻 thank you for watching
Im in Virginia and caught 2.sting ray and 1 skate off of live shinners
Keep up the great work , nice job Pat 👍🏻
The fish at the ~16:30 minute mark is commonly called a sand perch in North Carolina.
Thank you !!
Thanks for posting, don't know how how old your children are but might be a great way to introduce them to the sport. Thanks again looks like you had a great time.
Skates have a good taste
I've heard that from many people , some have said they taste like scallops
I hear there is fishing near the bay in the Shirley Chisholm State park off of the bellt parkway near Starret City. Have you ever fished there?
Hi Leonard , I have not fished there yet , I will soon hopefully, thank you for watching!
The fish before the weak fish was a sand perch
Thank you !!
FYI-sabiki rigs are illegal in Maryland unless you cut off all the hooks except 2. We are only allowed to have 2 hooks on a rod.
I only left the bottom 2 hooks , I made a note in the beginning of this video , thank you for watching
How did you rig that bait?
That was rigged weedless Texas rigged on a round bend hook 👍🏻
@@Exploremorefishing nice man, Thanx.
No problem! There are a lot of really good tutorials on KZread on how to rig a soft plastic weedless / Texas rig
@@Exploremorefishing I have been using a TX rig for more than forty years, just couldn't see it in the video- thanks again.
@@LaughOutLoudRudeeLoop Wow , I'm sure there's a lot I can learn from you ! Appreciate you , all the best
Great video looks like you had fun. I got an 11 pound weakie live lining a kingfish in avalon great bait
Wow 11 pound weakie! Awesome ! TY FOR WATCHING ✌🏻
Looked like a fun day. I was hoping you’d give that skate a meal. What brand of reel is the all silver with the with the blue mono on it?
Definitely a fun day full of variety, all the gear is listed down in the description 👍🏻 TY for watching and commenting
Great day of tog fishing! Thanks for the tutorial as well. We like tog fishing and were out at Barnegat last July. Caught lots of undersized togs and had fun with light tackle and small hooks punching the holes in the rocks for cunner.
Your welcome, tog are always fun to catch no matter their size , glad you enjoyed the tutorial, TY for watching!
Nice video. Again a great sabiki rig trip! Pretty jealous of that N sennet😉. Have you eaten any N puffers? Those were a bit small but they are easy to clean and a great eating fish.
I appreciate the positive feedback, I have never tried puffer before , maybe one day ..TY for watching!
That's why Maryland fishing sucks😂😂😂😂. VA is the best place to fish
Maryland was good to me , I should be in VA soon tho ..looking forward to it
Unfortunately your right but maybe Maryland would be better if the commercial fisherman stop netting up most of the menhaden
Early spring and later in fall is better fishing. Won’t catch but stuff in the surf often out there in summer other than sharks if you get it out with a drone
Looks like a white perch.
No Coney Island white fish ?
Not on this day lol TY for watching !
What park of Brooklyn is that
Nice trip video. The sabiki rig catches all kinds of fish😁
That mystery fish is a silver perch. They are related to the other drum species like spot, croaker, weakfish, etc. Seemed like a nice day. We typically fish the Oceanic pier in the inlet and have not fished that pier. May have to give it a try. We love variety and my daughter hasn't caught a clearnose skate yet. Good luck on your next trip. Looking forward to more videos.
Thank you for watching and good luck fishing with your daughter , all the best ✌🏻
@@Exploremorefishing Yeah I think we also call them sand perch
Thank you !!
Looks like a white perch
Are you still there?? I’m going tomorrow I really want to meet you!
Great Video!
I appreciate that ! TY!
Spot and croaker are two different fish
Thank you Craig ! I appreciate the comment , thank you for watching 👍🏻
Spot and croaker are two different fish i catch them in Virgina spot are good to use to catch flounder, striper, blue fish you can use croaker to
Thanks for watching and commenting ✌🏻
Big spot are good eating, except for the bones. Back in the day we'd fill a bushel basket, steam and flake and make fish cakes to freeze for winter eating. About as good as a crab cake.
I love croaker just because they sound like a cat purrin a bit lol
Exactly but people who are clueless probably the majority watching this video wouldn't know the difference, honestly I stopped watching when I seen 3, 2 ounce weights stacked together 😅
@@SaltyBaitsFishingclearly it was 2 - 2 ounce sinkers not 3 ...gotta improvise when you don't have a 4 ounce sinker ...either way thanks for watching big bro
Nice fishing day great content
Thank you Peter! I appreciate the comment 👍🏻 Thanks for watching
Had fun today. The small teaser is the one for hickory shad. The others are just a variety pack for fluke, sea bass, and stripers. I'll make sure you are set for September. Tight lines.
Tom ! I really appreciate it, I'm definitely putting those teasers to work ....we had a good day 👍🏻 hopefully we can share the water again ✌🏻all the best
I want to take my children fishing this summer but don’t know if I will need a license to fish.
Hi Sammy , if you plan on fishing in freshwater then yes you need to buy a fishing license if you are 16 and older , however if you plan on fishing in saltwater all you need is to register on their website ..I left the link for you dec.ny.gov
No charge for a salt water fishing license in NY, but you should get one anyway.
Do they bother you about having a fishing license here in New York City?
Hi Sammy , if you plan on fishing in freshwater you're gonna need to buy a freshwater fishing license however if you plan on fishing in saltwater then all you need to do is register for free with the New York DEC ...here's the link dec.ny.gov/regulatory/permits-licenses/sporting-and-use/sporting/fishing-license
Instant subscribe! I live in south Amboy, and fish Keansburg frequently.
Appreciate it Robert! TY!!!
That's a keeper😂
have u tried live lining the bunker u snag?
Great question..on this day I did not but I have done that in the past ...maybe I can mix that in a video in the future..TY for watching and thanks for the idea !
Snagging bunker is legal just don’t snag the bunker and leave it out there with the snag rig. I watched several fisherman gets fined by fish n game for snagging amd leaving them out on the snag rig
That's correct my friend 👍🏻 TY for watching!
Every time I come here. I don’t catch. Unless I fish for spots. lol. No blues no stripers fluke ect
Yeah it can hit or miss there ...spring run is always good for me ...TY for watching! ✌🏻
السلام عليكم .هل هذا المكان يوجد في Coney island,وشكرا .
Explore more awesome video. Since I joined your channel brother you never disappoint.... happy Father's day and keep up the amazing work 👍👍🙏🙏
Wow I really do appreciate that! , God bless and thank you so much for watching !! ✌🏻
From one angler too another much love thank you....
I watched an old man about 6 years ago use a high low rig for blackfish and got a double header with big fish. Had a 8 pounder and an 11 pounder on at the same time at that same location
That's certainly a good day of fishing. Glad to see catch and release. I see a lot of people keep everything including shorts. SMH.
I grew up fishing the bicycle path in Brooklyn. Blue, Stripe Bass, Porgies, Snappers, fluke, good selection fish depending on the season. Skates were pretty common. One day I caught a huge Ray 30 in to 36 in wingspan. I could not get him over the fence, took the hook out and down he tumbled and swam away. Thanks for the memories. New friend like 62
I'm so glad you enjoyed the video, I appreciate the kind words ...thank you for watching!!
Don't think so but they hurt like he'll when they bite and have ton of spikes
I definitely learned the hard way ! Those spikes did a number on my finger
I wonder did u catch any king mackerel at this pier
Hi Aaron , on this day I did not see any King mackerel being caught ...thanks for watching !
