Is drinking pineapple juice as effective as eating pineapple?
have been using N-Acetyl-L-Carnosine eye drops for 25 years. Two decades ago, my doctor said I have "junior" cataract and these eye drops wont work. He had me set up for operation in another 5 years. But my cataract stop progressing since 2003. It causes a mild sting indicative of penetration into the cornea. I don't have noticeable glare or blurred vision. These drops are sold by Life Extension, a serious supplement company with monthly publications of articles on supplements.
Try red light therapy first doesn't eliminate them, but it seems to make them less noticeable.
YAG vitreolysis does not break up floaters into smaller floaters. It emits plasma that physically evaporates the floater. It is problem the one treatment I perform that patients are the most satisfied with. We take fundus photos before and after that shows the disappearance. YAG vitreolysis is really only effective with Weiss Rings. If it is not a weiss ring, then vitrectomy is the better choice

There should be something that stops appearing more of them, i had one on my right eye, for about two months now i got 4-5 in the left one and some lines in the right one! I eat pineapples, three servings every day, i use castor oil around eyes, i hope something works. I’m inly 27, and had them for two years now.
Well kids so far I've tried castor oil around the eye and on the lid at night and my floaters seem to be diminishing... only day 2 but I'm a lot more hopeful
No. Single focus. They do not work.
That’s exactly what my doctor did. He said go get these drops and I’ll see you in 30 days. No bedside matters whatsoever. This woman is great.
I went to a shitty doctor that said Mexicans never take care of their eyes 😡. I would rather go blind, than take crap off that racist doctor. Never go to a Costco eye doctor in pearland texas 😠. I tried to save a drive to my eye doctor of 33 years, who has never mentioned this.
When i swim my eye is ok..not sure why
I’m a 61 yr old female. My right eye astigmatism is -0.50 with a prescription of +8.50. The left lazy eye astigmatism is -2.50 with a +9.50. Both reading corrections are +2.50 (finding frames to fit this prescription is a challenge) I had iriodotomies performed in 2020 for glaucoma. Last week the surgeon performed a Super K on my lazy left eye to remove Map, Dot, Fingerprint Dystrophy. A Super K was done on my right eye 18 months ago. So I have no more corneal astigmatisms. But all these procedures have resulted in dry eyes. I treat my dry eyes with warm compresses, Soothe gel 2xs a day, and drink lots of fluids. My goal is to go from severe myopia to manageable myopia. I know I’m not coming out of next month’s right eye cataract surgery with 20/20 vision. The surgeon has selected Mono IOL. I’m not a candidate for any of the premium IOLS due to the above complications. I had a consultation with a cataract counselor last week but I was distracted by the Super K procedure. I read my risk for complications like detached retina increases which is why I’m getting cataract surgery early before old age rigidity of the vitreous sets in. The surgeon is going to set my right eye for midrange vision. I don’t drive so long range vision is not necessary. In most cases, the other eye would be set for close range but with my lazy eye that’s not an option. So will both eyes be set for mid range? Will I have the same vision I have now but with less myopia and thinner eye glass lenses? Is there anything I can do in the next 4 weeks to improve my dry eyes and hopefully get better surgical results?
😢😢😢 l almost went crazy when l started seeing this annoying object flying up and down around my right eye l thought l was getting mad😢
I get the aging part, I'm only 36 though and have floaters🤔🤔🤔
@@NikaVeronika88 I’ve had some since I was 10! They can be present in anyone, but tend to progress with age.
@@dr.elisabeth7778 Interesting! I’m taking eye supplements, hopefully it’ll help. Went to the eye doctor and he wasn’t concerned about it. They are very annoying though 😭
Floaters do NOT fade at all, at least in my case. Had them since 17, now 56 and I have significant amount to the point that reading is a task.
My pressure in my left eye was 18 in Nov, 23 in April and 28 in July. Very concerned. Oh, age 67. Did get a diagnosis of pseudoexfoliation but she didn't use the word "glaucoma" at all.
I can attest eating pineapple daily works for me. If I am away on a trip and discontinue eating, floaters return in about 4 days. Have been eating pineapple on routine basis for over a year now. I would class my floaters a moderate. The floaters are still present, but definitely less bothersome if maintain in my diet. I eat about 1 pineapple every 10 days. 1 large slice once a day. Typically breakfast.
Can you talk about secondary glaucoma due to port wine stain?
Commenting for others FYI, I’m fairly fit and young but since I got port wine stain on my face this is causing secondary glaucoma to my eye where port wine stain is. So if you know someone with port wine stain get glaucoma checked

Is there any specific treatment for this type of Glaucoma or Just lowering the IOP will be the treatment Kindly Reply I Am Having My Exam Tomorrow
Lowering the eye pressure is the only current treatment for glaucoma. Even though it is already “low” in normal tension glaucoma, the goal is to lower it further. I hope the best for you tomorrow!
@@dr.elisabeth7778 Thanks Alot Doc It really went well..Keep Up The Good Work😍
@@abdullahkhaaan158 That’s wonderful!!
Hi Dr. If Stokes law applies to floaters then larger floaters will settle easier than smaller particles after laser treatment. Any thoughts? Thanks.
I’ve heard of people getting their rid of their cataracts naturally.
Wow, lots of information to take in. Thanks so much Dr. Elisabeth. I see my doctor in a couple of weeks and look forward to her input. The night driving glare has gotten so bad that I don’t want to drive at night anymore.
Glare at night is a common complaint! I wish you the best at your appointment! Thank you for watching :)
Dr. Elisab my eye pressure is IOP since many years taking medication i m 57y and have 1 eyed what i do? Kindly advise
New accommodating type lens are being testing now.
I was diagnosed with high eye pressure recently. It was always very low before this. I was trying to think what caused it and I came up with exercise. I was breathing wrongly when exercise. I should breath out under load and breath in on the negative. I was doing the opposite. Now having watched this video I think that my regular swimming might also be causing problems because my goggles could be pushing against my eyes.
Mam I really struggle the eye floaters for 3 years what to do retina is normal glucoma is fine vision is clear but disturbance my daily routine what do mam
Can you do a video Dr Elizabeth on satellite halosis which is small specks of calcium glistening in eyes.
An excellent YT presentation and I learned a ton. I do have issues in my right eye, under a doctor´s care, but your so well done video helps a lot to make everything clearer to me. All the best for you and the channel. Burgos, Spain
Hard to see rocks and trash on the trails with the floaters randomly in my way/vision...
I developed my own nutritional support and supplements.I am doing well so far with God Grace . I am ok and no eye drop.
pineapple enzyme=bromelain, is a proteolytic enzyme, meaning it helps digest protein, your gut lining is protein so never eat pineapple on an empty stomach. that is what was causing my tummy troubles, you can put it in plain yogurt tho (no sugar)
I drink pineapple juice and it really helps. 1 cup twice a day.
Gd thank for that Info sound good , it what about drinking the Mariguana and don't smoking am not a smoker?
Is there any data that references the lock-ins worsening the vision? After my 1st lock-in, I immediately noticed that I had blurred vision and my distance had worsened. Because I had the 1st lock-in, I had to do the 2nd. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks after locking in and I'm unable to see midrange, such as the menu on the TV and my distance is horrendous. The only thing I can do clearly is read what I'm holding. After my 1st adjustment, the consensus was that my vision was "better than perfect". I had the vision that "others are trying to achieve". I only had the 1 adjustment after surgery and each week prior to my lock-in my vision was superb, which is why we only did one. Something changed terribly and it had to have happened during the lock-in somehow. I'm fearful that it's too late to fix anything.
Thank you so much for sharing 🙏🏿
Vitrectomy is the only way. Period.
I had done surgery of my right eye last year in feb.2023. It was retina detachment surgery. All eye drops were tried by the doctors but all in vain . i only see10%from this operated eye. I request you to kindly suggests
Thank you for nice explanation Do foreign objects like chemicals as hair products & spray when touche the eyes cause eyes floaters ? Even a little of these objects ?
Dear Doctor, I experienced trauma to one of my eyes as a child. A month ago, my intraocular pressure (IOP) was at 50, which damaged my optic nerve, resulting in about 30% vision in that eye. I underwent GATT surgery one month ago and have been using three types of eye drops since then. Currently, my IOP is 20. Is this still considered high? If so, what additional steps should I take?
Successfully had it last year. Will probably do the other eye in the months to come.
All floats gone?
@@s33w every single one.
What a wonderful, clear, detailed, balanced and impartial appraisal of this area. More people should take your approach. Many thanks indeed.
Hi I have eye pressures in the 30's, visual field tests ok, but very thick corneas. How much can the thick corneas be contributing to the high pressures? What could they be if they were more of an average thickness? Does it make just a few single figure differences or could it be more significant say in double figures? Thank you.
Bromeliane study is fake. I have tried it for 100+ days - it did'n worked at all.
If I understand correctly, the astigmatism value as measured by laser is a different number than what is in your eyeglass prescription. The eyeglass prescription cyl is a value that is the combination (net) of the corneal and lens astigmatism. My eyeglass prescription is -0.75 D but today's laser scan technician said my astigmatism in that same eye was 1.5. So is that a number that is most accurately treated with a toric lens or a regular lens with one of the laser enhancements mentioned? The surgeon intends on using Eyhance by J&J.
I will be 63 in a few days. I have had to wear glasses since I was seven years old due to severe astigmatism. I had cataract surgery in Nov of 2023 and second surgery 3 weeks later. I chose to have toric lens implants. For me, this was a miracle! I no longer need to wear glasses. I have had no problems whatsoever with the implants. I am in awe of how good my vision is now. I still find myself after all these months pushing my glasses back onto my nose properly even though I’m not wearing any lol. People are still getting used to seeing me without glasses. I still need reading glasses and have purchased those from the drugstore as my eye doctor said they’re perfectly fine for reading. I highly recommend the Toric lenses if you have astigmatism. The surgery itself is pain free and only takes 10 or 15 minutes. I am so happy I chose these lenses!
Wow! I wish my doctor could explain things as well as you can. Thank you so much!
If I had been told of the complications I never would have consented to the laser surgery
