have been using N-Acetyl-L-Carnosine eye drops for 25 years. Two decades ago, my doctor said I have "junior" cataract and these eye drops wont work. He had me set up for operation in another 5 years. But my cataract stop progressing since 2003. It causes a mild sting indicative of penetration into the cornea. I don't have noticeable glare or blurred vision. These drops are sold by Life Extension, a serious supplement company with monthly publications of articles on supplements.

YAG vitreolysis does not break up floaters into smaller floaters. It emits plasma that physically evaporates the floater. It is problem the one treatment I perform that patients are the most satisfied with. We take fundus photos before and after that shows the disappearance. YAG vitreolysis is really only effective with Weiss Rings. If it is not a weiss ring, then vitrectomy is the better choice

I’m a 61 yr old female. My right eye astigmatism is -0.50 with a prescription of +8.50. The left lazy eye astigmatism is -2.50 with a +9.50. Both reading corrections are +2.50 (finding frames to fit this prescription is a challenge) I had iriodotomies performed in 2020 for glaucoma. Last week the surgeon performed a Super K on my lazy left eye to remove Map, Dot, Fingerprint Dystrophy. A Super K was done on my right eye 18 months ago. So I have no more corneal astigmatisms. But all these procedures have resulted in dry eyes. I treat my dry eyes with warm compresses, Soothe gel 2xs a day, and drink lots of fluids. My goal is to go from severe myopia to manageable myopia. I know I’m not coming out of next month’s right eye cataract surgery with 20/20 vision. The surgeon has selected Mono IOL. I’m not a candidate for any of the premium IOLS due to the above complications. I had a consultation with a cataract counselor last week but I was distracted by the Super K procedure. I read my risk for complications like detached retina increases which is why I’m getting cataract surgery early before old age rigidity of the vitreous sets in. The surgeon is going to set my right eye for midrange vision. I don’t drive so long range vision is not necessary. In most cases, the other eye would be set for close range but with my lazy eye that’s not an option. So will both eyes be set for mid range? Will I have the same vision I have now but with less myopia and thinner eye glass lenses? Is there anything I can do in the next 4 weeks to improve my dry eyes and hopefully get better surgical results?

I can attest eating pineapple daily works for me. If I am away on a trip and discontinue eating, floaters return in about 4 days. Have been eating pineapple on routine basis for over a year now. I would class my floaters a moderate. The floaters are still present, but definitely less bothersome if maintain in my diet. I eat about 1 pineapple every 10 days. 1 large slice once a day. Typically breakfast.

I was diagnosed with high eye pressure recently. It was always very low before this. I was trying to think what caused it and I came up with exercise. I was breathing wrongly when exercise. I should breath out under load and breath in on the negative. I was doing the opposite. Now having watched this video I think that my regular swimming might also be causing problems because my goggles could be pushing against my eyes.

Is there any data that references the lock-ins worsening the vision? After my 1st lock-in, I immediately noticed that I had blurred vision and my distance had worsened. Because I had the 1st lock-in, I had to do the 2nd. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks after locking in and I'm unable to see midrange, such as the menu on the TV and my distance is horrendous. The only thing I can do clearly is read what I'm holding. After my 1st adjustment, the consensus was that my vision was "better than perfect". I had the vision that "others are trying to achieve". I only had the 1 adjustment after surgery and each week prior to my lock-in my vision was superb, which is why we only did one. Something changed terribly and it had to have happened during the lock-in somehow. I'm fearful that it's too late to fix anything.

Dear Doctor, I experienced trauma to one of my eyes as a child. A month ago, my intraocular pressure (IOP) was at 50, which damaged my optic nerve, resulting in about 30% vision in that eye. I underwent GATT surgery one month ago and have been using three types of eye drops since then. Currently, my IOP is 20. Is this still considered high? If so, what additional steps should I take?

Hi I have eye pressures in the 30's, visual field tests ok, but very thick corneas. How much can the thick corneas be contributing to the high pressures? What could they be if they were more of an average thickness? Does it make just a few single figure differences or could it be more significant say in double figures? Thank you.

If I understand correctly, the astigmatism value as measured by laser is a different number than what is in your eyeglass prescription. The eyeglass prescription cyl is a value that is the combination (net) of the corneal and lens astigmatism. My eyeglass prescription is -0.75 D but today's laser scan technician said my astigmatism in that same eye was 1.5. So is that a number that is most accurately treated with a toric lens or a regular lens with one of the laser enhancements mentioned? The surgeon intends on using Eyhance by J&J.

I will be 63 in a few days. I have had to wear glasses since I was seven years old due to severe astigmatism. I had cataract surgery in Nov of 2023 and second surgery 3 weeks later. I chose to have toric lens implants. For me, this was a miracle! I no longer need to wear glasses. I have had no problems whatsoever with the implants. I am in awe of how good my vision is now. I still find myself after all these months pushing my glasses back onto my nose properly even though I’m not wearing any lol. People are still getting used to seeing me without glasses. I still need reading glasses and have purchased those from the drugstore as my eye doctor said they’re perfectly fine for reading. I highly recommend the Toric lenses if you have astigmatism. The surgery itself is pain free and only takes 10 or 15 minutes. I am so happy I chose these lenses!
