I hate to say it but you put the thick spacer in the wrong place. It goes between the diagonal brace and the rung post assembly. This keeps the diagonal brace from sliding back and forth. Put shoulder bolt in first hole of rung post assembly, put nylon spacer then diagonal brace then through other side of rung post assembly and then nut.

*I got this to use ina storage building with a low loft.✹>**share4.photo/AtticLadder?tu** If you drill a hole in the bottom section half way down, it jail work great with the lower loft floor. I have a 2 x. 4 ft. Opening and no problems. Have installed 4 more for friends. I give this 10 stars*

Thanks so much! I've been researching ladder jacks since I'll be painting my house soon, and your video will save me lots of time with the assembly of the jack, since assemblies like this don't come easy for me. I do appreciate your time and thoughtfulness in making the turorial.
