Those C-500 Kenworths are beasts! Not meant to be the pretty, blinged-out highway star, they are for doin' the heavy lifting. I know they have been working in several specialty markets, but it was in forestry that I saw them working firsthand. To me, they are still a good lookin' truck, kinda like the serious, no-nonsense big brother to the W-900.

The Kenworth is about a 40 U.S. ton dump like the old Cline truck on par with the old Hayes HDX and Pacific P-12 and P-16 trucks. A company Spartan Motors once made a 40 ton half cab dump. I believe Spartan now makes fire engines and full screw tandem axle chassis for motor homes.

I owned a C-500 A..most have never heard of it.it was the highway version of the C-500.No square aluminum front fenders.It had a fiberglass tilt hood like W9’s.but headlights were slightly different. And no it was not the brute model either.my rig was a tri axle dump.20 ft alum body 400 big cam Cummins,12513 fuller with 4.88 rears.Worked the pa coal fields for the most part.

looks like the exhaust stack is a little too tall. Hidden under the cab guard and soot is building up all over the paint.

Don’t you think that there might be a little dust building up on the paint? Looks like the exhaust is discharged to the side.
