    Think of it as an off-grid text based communication platform. No internet or cell service needed. The devices form a mesh, forwarding packets they recieve. So the range is longer than individual LoRa radios can perform alone. There is a shared channel to share messages with the community and also private massages between two nodes. Thanks. Best wishes. Tucson Mesh has really grown. I came in early March, there were maybe 10 nodes visible in the list. Now there are 30 - 40 nodes online throughout the day. The default long fast channel has people checking in from all over town, from Marana to Vail. Replacing the stock Heltec antenna with 175mm LoRa antenna is a game changer! I have a rooftop antenna as well. But my window node gets to Mt Lemmon on it's own, so the roof antenna may just help people farther away. Thanks! Best wishes.

    Very Informative..👨‍🎓 I don't have a 3D printer YET 😢.. However I assume this (Or similar) calibration would need to be done with any Make / Model or Brand Name of 3D Printer.. Yes, this is applicable to any brand or model. Though I can't say the menus would be the same. It's funny, all these years I have never done this calibration until now. I just noticed specific pieces I printed weren't as expected. This was a big upgrade going from the old 16 bit motherboard to the 32 bit one. So I guess it just needed that extra touch! Best wishes. Hello Shotoku -- I discovered your wonderful channel. Thanks. My V3 board works. I plugged it into my car while I watched your video on my phone. The factory test fired right up. After I got it home, I tried examples. I can get the time (NTP), so the wifi hardware works. The OLED example works. But factory test V3 V2 doesn't, not anymore At compile time, I get this error: 'class WiFiClass' has no member named 'setAutoConnect' It's a simple problem, I think. I need a version of WiFi.h written by Mr. Aaron Lee of Heltec, not one written by Expressive or one in the Arduino Core. Did you run into this compile problem? hardware: Version 3 (version 3.1 actually) board: Heltec WiFi LoRa 32(V3) IDE: V2.3.2 board manager: github.com/Heltec-Aaron-Lee/WiFi_Kit_series/releases/download/1.0.0/package_heltec_esp32_index.json relevant libraries: Heltec ESP32 Dev-Boards V2.0.2 Time V1.6.1

  • @ShotokuTech
    @ShotokuTech3 күн бұрын

    Hello. Sorry, this comment got 'held for review' so it took me a while to see it. For the Heltec V3, you only need the board manager URL, select the WiFi LoRa32(V3) and use the example sketches under 'HeltecExample'. I find it is problematic to load other Heltec libraries. So I'm not sure you want 'Heltec ESP32 Dev-Boards V2.0.2' installed or if example sketches from that library will work. The additional library may be causing problems. The board definition itself contains the example sketches for 'HeltecExample'. Best wishes.

    @@nandhini.m2182 I recommend using the open pins: 45 and 46, or 47 and 48. The pins you have chosen are shared with embedded devices on the board. Yes I2C "should" work with shared pins. But I prefer to use the unassigned ones. You also must initialize the boards components first in void setup, then initialize your device. I have covered this in several of my Heltec V3 videos.

    It takes some time to figure it out. M5Burner is the start where you flash UIFlow 1 or 2 as a base for MicroPython. Remember to hit "configure" as well (before or after flashing) and the device should show the rest. It's important to wait for the green icon (wifi icon) and use the correct API key (both being the same). I did it with several devices. The terminal can also show errors in the code you try out, if you get stuck.
