Whats the best way to replace the rack end seals?
Changing the seals usually requires the removal of the rack ends (there's a couple vids for removal of those) and pulling the rack out of the tube to get to the seals, alternatively you can use a small screw into the seal and lever them out with the rack in place, either way can be a PITA and it's pretty common if those seals are leaking the surface condition of the rack could be the issue not the seals (corrosion usually). It's worth a check under the boots to be sure the rack is worth resealing as often it's a case to change the whole steering rack assembly at that point as corrosion to the rack surface finish is beyond economical repair. It's often a case of if they aren't leaking, I'd leave them, and if they are leaking, a new rack may be the go. Hope this helps
How do you slide the top of the immobiliser? Mine won't budge!
Mine has a cap on the top that has 2 screws going in from the top of the cap. These need to be undone to lift the cap. Mine is a 674Ri
@@simmoshomeworkshop ah ok. Thank you very much! I'll have another look as I've just ordered another fob because I rang a guy and he says £800 to fit a whole new alarm system just because one of my buttons on the fob has come away from the board 😒
Wow not cheap! Hopefully you can find the code and get the new fob to work, they can be quite hit and miss depending on the model
@@simmoshomeworkshop mine looks like a 457 with 4 buttons on it but the box itself looks like yours so hoping this works 🤞 Do you know if there's a way to program another fob when you already have a fob? Like I said only one button 'arm' is broken on my existing fob but all the other buttons work. Just wondering if you can use the existing fob to put the box into 'learning' mode?
Hmm, I have only really coded the single button fobs through the LED input and key on and off flashing procedure (from the video). I have not coded using another fob, it is possible without entering the code first (before doing the LED procedure) you instead use the other fob do disarm the immobiliser then do the second half of the procedure for the new fob, but I have never tried that.

how can we test if torque converter slip or gearbox slip
Usually, if an auto is beginning to slip, you might expect to see rpm flares when driving, especially when changing gears. A standard torque converter would usually stall and drive through the brakes at a fairly low rpm (like 1250 to 1500) if the trans is slipping you would likely have higher rpm and not feel the vehicle pushing forward hard when stalling the torque converter. Also worth checking the fluid condition and level (usually check hot and in drive) If the fluid is dark /burnt and / or low, this is a red flag and can cause issues with shifting and possibly clutch/band slip. Any noises or harsh shifting would also suggest the auto needing attention. Hope this can help!

Can you add apps to the unit? Do you know if it supports Waze? Great vid mate
Thanks! Yep, anything on the play store can be installed, I put waze on mine works well, only thing I found is I had to hotspot the unit to my phone for WiFi to use the apps on the unit. I find connecting to my phone via Bluetooth or a wired connection and using the phone apps can be an easier option.
Awesome thanks mate. Just purchased
A240L Toyota transmission. Is It's torque converter upgradable?
Not anywhere I can see, only option would be to replace with an aftermarket unit like a high stall, if one exists for the A240 series
I noticed it covers the factory clock in the top of the screen or is it just the angle u recorded in??
It does a little, it depends on how tall you are. I'm 6' and can see the factory clock while driving. But only just.
How about how you got it out
I pulled it out through the driver's side wheel arch with the wheel off, it does fit through the chassis, suspension and sway bar. I needed to rotate it to fit the steering box section out through the gap. I did film the fitment of the rack at the end, but not the removal, would have been more helpful if I did that I imagine.
Great video mate. Thank you.
You're a legend. I have been struggling with this issue and EVERYTHING checks out but my fans will not turn on. Clutch will not turn on. New FCM too. Just ordered an ambient temp sensor. Crossing my fingers!
❤❤
No need for an electric skateboard 😂😂
Bosch #1
With ABS how
Same issues… I checked fuses replaced FCM and today replaced the pressure …. Still no power or ground at the clutch
Hmm, been a while now since I owned this car and got the A/C working, could be worth checking the ambient temp sensor under the cowl, wasn't my issue but seems to be common to have issues with the sensor or the wiring to the sensor. Odd there is no clutch grounding, from memory this is a hard wire and not controlled or switched. May pay to also use a jump wire to the compressor magnetic clutch from the battery + (at the compressor plug) to see if there is issues with the clutch or the clutch ground, if it does not pull in or it could be a magnet issue or there may be a broken wire somewhere.
Sounds great!
Great video. Very helpful. Thank you
Thank you You are the boss
Hilux 106 shaft to replace splints inlinnent
Very good, clear and easy to follow instructions. Keep up the good work!
Awesome!
50th thumbs up
😅 thanks!
I did this worked sweet. Cleaned out my blocked pilot jet and cleaned the fuel bowl out and got my idle back. Cheers bro 🍻
do i need to hook it up to a battery? did the kit come with wires to connect with a battery
No battery needed, power to turn on the camera comes from the reverse light circuit we spliced into, so when reverse is selected it will switch on the camera circuit. You can connect to the battery and a switch if you would like the option to switch it on demand without the use of the reverse circuit.
thanks brother
Hey Simmo, thanks for the vids mate! I’ve just installed the same eBay head unit as you and about to install the reverse camera. For some reason my reverse signal isn’t labeled so I’ll have to have a chat to supplier What do you do with the other two cables hanging out of the plug where the reverse connector was behind the unit. It has two smaller cables sitting with it also Cheers
Thanks for the helpful video! I’m in the same predicament right now and was wondering how you’re fairing after a year of posting this video.
Thanks! Car and A/C are going well, resealed the system, vacumed down and gassed up, A/C still cold and working well. One thing I should have done is replace the receiver dryer but didn't at the time.
Legend!
Hi mate do ur 2 usbs work I’ve got mine and they don’t seem to charge my phone or do anything how did u set them up Thanks
Hi mate, yep mine both work, one to connect my phone and one to provide charge only, no setting up required. There are 2 spots they plug into in the back of the unit, the 4 pin plug and receptacle is only charging current and the 6 pin one is data and charge, might pay to make sure they are secured into the correct sides? Hope this can help!
@@simmoshomeworkshopI fixed it I put the connectors on backwards thanks for the reply
Hey mate I purchased one similar to this and I am having trouble getting the ac button to work, any ideas
The a/c button? Is the OEM switch sticking in the facia hole or something? If so, I guess you could file the hole out a little bit.
How do you test the work load???
The duty cycle on the T14 - 2 pin? I used the option on my multimeter (should have % or Hz) it shows a time on and time off percentage of the high pressure switch, percentage should be between 20% and 80%, anything outside of this range cuts the compressor.
Great video thanks ... Calm and thoughtful narrator .. good camera work too ... Really useful
What year model?

Mate nothing get to about the bearing tool. Thinking outside the box 👌
Regards to the throw out bearing carrier. Is there 2 different types for the z32 transmission?
Hi, I probably added unnecessary confusion with that part, the Z32 has only one type, the short one (30501-B6064). There are other types out there for different Nissan models, if like me you buy second hand, it's possible to get the wrong one (I was supplied the wrong one initially from the second hand dealer)
@@simmoshomeworkshop thanks mate. That note regards to the clutch cover on the firewall was gold. I was making a template ready to drill it.
Very helpful thank you 👍

Hi there, good job with this video, what is your wrist size in cm or inches? Thanks.
Good question! My wrist measures just under 18 cm / 7 inch
@@simmoshomeworkshop Thanks for the quick answer. Good thing we have basically the exact same wrist size so it's an easy comparison.
"BOSCH"-GSB 18V -150C vs "HILTI" SF10W - 22A - pls ., 🙏 😃
Thank you bro... it works..
Great video, helped me out.
New tire after?
Haha nah it held up ok, probably better than the clutch pack
As a locksmith, well done. I would just say to be careful not to lose the chip that starts the car, as they aren't typically glued in those heads. How did you get on programming the chip to start the car?
Thanks, a detailed no fluff video. Perfection.
Thanks mate. I don’t know how many times I have watch this. You have helped me set up about 6 spares for my Hilux and friends Hiluxs. Today I didn’t have the success I normally do. I found out that the remote was a different frequency. So the key worked but not the remote. For others, look inside your original key remote and be sure the key you’re ordering has the right code. B41TH is what I needed, but the one I got (I should have checked before ordering it) was B41TA. Hope this helps someone else. Thanks again champ, your little video has been awesome.
Thanks mate, good tip! Didn't know that, hope it can help someone else!
Hell yeah good video mate i noticed your in wa? Im having issues with my z maybe one day we could meet up and see what they are? Also cruze sometime
