  I like to imagine that the Church of The Prince had about twice the numbers of the Sigil Knights, simply because of The Prince's influence. This would explain the Sigil Knight order and the Faceless Legion teaming up.

  The Faceless Ones, having perfected their craft to such an extent where their assassinations are considered flawless, and even if they were to be seen, none of them could be identified. Though the Sigil Knight order could profit greatly from their skills, they eventually created their own assassins called the Whisperers, who ironically hide in plain sight, yet few know of their existence. The Faceless Ones were truly the pioneers of organised crime in Gaia and continue to excel in their craft.

  I like to imagine that most people in Gaia don't actually know that Whisperers exist, like they're some kind of urban legend or myth, but in truth they are real, and they are watching. You may keep your secrets from the Sigil Knights, but the whisperers will always know.

  I think the Shinobi, lorewise, are an order of assasins who hunt in packs to eradicate the weak and create a world where only the strong may live.

  As the strong souls in Solan's order stay ahead, the weaker ones stay behind. Their fickle willpower is the perfect soil for the seed of doubt, which is planted by morality. Slowly over time, the weaker knights' minds will no longer be able to bear the burden of their duties, and snap. This is when, be it out of frustration, or just raw insanity, they no longer spare the criminals who they arrest. A mere thief would recieve the death penalty by the now corrupted knight's own judgement, and that execution would become a spree of murders. Soon enough the knight's masters will have caught wind of their wrongdoings and seek to incarserate them. In the act of fleeing, the knight is lured to the Sleeping Forest, and eventually deeper into the Sunken Passage, before they realized it, they were in another realm. The otherworldly aura of the abyss gave the knight a feeling of no return, as cursed whispers beckoned them to the hall of mirrors. The lost soul is drawn in by the seraph of Altum, and then became nothing more than a corrupted vessel of madness and bloodlust, eventually becoming the one thing they one day swore to fight.

  I like to imagine that the Sigil Knights follow a strict sense of absolute justice, meaning that they'll bring criminals to justice by any means necessary. They keep those who cannot fend for themselves safe, but at the cost of the opression that comes with their strict and ironclad upholding of the law.
