About me
I started my career in software sales without any connections or experience at a leading software company, and it changed my life. I started out making $50,000/yr as a sales development rep, and in under 4 years by the age of 26, I was promoted 6 times, made +60,000 cold calls, and earned $302,000 as a senior account executive.
I've created over 1,000 KZread videos helping teach more people about tech sales as I'm on a mission to instill my years of industry expertise into others, allowing this amazing career to change their lives just like it changed mine.

Yessir! I love taking my notes on Yellow legal pad too!! writing things down manually builds the Mind-Muscle connection. Keep shining and sharing your light 🙌🏾
Looking forward to the 100 cold call video

Solar sales ?
Trent, you don’t get the credit you deserve, my brother. Yes, I know folks know that you’re a successful salesman, but I’m not always sure they understand how crucial your ATTITUDE is for this work. I’m a 40 yr old BDR and got into tech sales a year and a half ago, in part, because of the attitude you have toward sales in your content. Helped me through an unexpected lay off earlier this year as well. Thank you and keep shining, my guy💪🏽✨
If I recall correctly, you used to say going to the office was the best thing to do and shows that you are a serious seller. But now WFH is better? What changed the mindset?
So coders sales reps and testers developers data analysts are going to be replaced by Ai so what’s left no cash because these people are spending more and regulating cash flow 😂
Hey Trent. Do you think there is a good option for people who are software engineers that want to transition into sales? Ive been an engineer for 6 years and am considering this and am wondering if there is a sales role that would still allow me to be a bit hands on with the tech.
thoughts on selling b2b low ticket saas like 100-300 dollar per month
hey trent would u work commission only?
ote?
Home improvement sales is amazing and pays bank! $200k/yr is average where I’m at in SEA. 👍 Newbies do $150k/yr average their first year.
I like deel era Trent
🙌
Amazing video Trent. I love the style of POV from a new rep, you’ve done many videos being a top rep in a company you’re familiar and well versed in. Very cool to see this new perspective from you.
would you ever do a remote retreat work shop, week in the life of Trent? Where aspiring entrepreneurs can remotely join you on your daily routine for a week? Just a thought I had,
I like the idea but cannot support that bc I need to find and close deals
9 times out of 10 they are going to say, I'm busy i will call you back or they will just hang up on you!
❤❤
To me: A job is a means to an end
Hey Trent, love watching your videos. I’m actually an SDR that just moved to Austin Texas this week wondering if you want to go grab a cuppa coffee or going a walk together downtown?
So cool to hear, you can find me at 6am yoga M-F: www.yogahomaustin.com/

Echo blockers for your office. 2 inch framed, 2 square foot with stapled fabric on front and sides. Fabric not too thick nor silk. Dish cloth will do. One frame on each walls hooked with a simple nail. It makes wonders. Keep up the good work!
Sounds like you are loving where you are and I am so happy for you.
Trent I love your videos, but if I may give some feedback about your thumbnails, specifically with the text portions. Using the words “It’s Doomed” and “It’s Over” for your thumbnails on videos that are generally positive/motivational really gives off mixed messages at best, and really negative impressions at worst. I believe you are short changing yourself and hope to see a more consistent change for future videos. Keep up the great work.
Appreciate the feedback
Habits, Trent...great habits you have developed..."you are what you think about AND have a habit for"... Good for you! Cheers from Oregon!
We’re on this journey together my man! Week 2 new role 🤘 let’s get it!
I love these videos, you make me feel grateful
Great perspective my man!!💪🏼💪🏼
I've been a super rep for over 10 years now...
Can you make a video on your content plan and content set up?
Hello Trent, Nice to see your content you are really doing well . I am a video editor but here i notice video editing part ...video editing can convert your content to Next Level and Viral if your videos look attractive then you can get huge engagement and convert your revenue/channel growth 5x more. I also do Thumbnails design, Video SEO and I am a video editor. If your say then i will do for it with 100% satisfaction, its not video editing it about telling a story about your self business or may be the world around in today's everyone try to tell there own story but sometimes words are not enough and the come video editing
wow this is simple. I learnt new thing .thank you
You'll do fine, kid. The best part is that your still young and you have enough business acumen to be successful.
Let’s go, Trent!
3 certainties of Life 1)Death 2)Taxes 3)Trent Dressel to motivate me
This might be only for telephone sales, but until an AI can go door to door or to software cons and build relationships it’s not gonna affect
Tech Sales and Digital Advertising are the peanut butter and jelly of any business to be successful.
Love it. See you on the HR & Payroll sales battlefield ;)

One of the big benefits of in-person is the ability to learn by immersion-hearing other people’s calls etc. Would you be able to share how you plan to learn from others in your remote role?
yes listening to other reps is super important, you can review everyone's gong calls
Gong is waaaaay better than listening on others calls in-person
Good vid
4:08 “Those reps whose lose jobs, I do think other jobs will be available.” I think this is wishful thinking lol
What degree do you recommend to study related to sales? (Ik you dont need one but it might be easier to get a great job having one).
degree doesn't matter to be good at sales or get the job
You don’t need a degree to get a sales job, and you can make a lot of money in most sales job. Some easier than others yes, but what will make you money is if you have the skills to do it.
Great video Trent
Thank you!
I like the soft lighting in the background tbh
Good to know
Do you think having a degree is needed for a career in tech sales?
You can still get job without degree, but it's harder
@@TrentDressel What’s needed if someone doesn’t have a degree?
@@abundantnature either apply directly and learn from free info or invest in a tech sales course to show you exactly what to do & learn - coursecareers.com/a/trent
Good luck, Trent! I've never been a real tech-savvy guy & generally not super knowledgeable about computers. Is software sales an industry that would be too challenging for a person like me, or is it something that I could pick up? I was formerly in industrial/automation sales.
You can do it
Third!!! :-)
Trent I’m not letting you beat me this quarter 😈
See you in the trenches 😤
@@TrentDressel I’m going to pclub this year, leaving you in the dust
