my wife is a laser beam engineer. Also known as photonic science. China has like 200 schools teaching photonics on bachelor level but US only has like 6. Much more difficult thah the very related electrical engineering but the transfer of photons instead of the transfer of electrons is the way of the future.

our local paper metagame is overrun with big mana decks. I worry that they aren't actually realizing that the power level of tron is higher than they realize because even though they say they don't just look at online results realistically their spreadsheet is skewed by it and tron requires a lot of clicking. Prism will be a mistake. ita a very small upgrade over Refractor, but its going to cause toxicity in paper metagames.

Thanks so much for the interview Emma and the insight. Whilst I'm a casual paper Pauper player it's the only way i play magic and love the format. Really appreciate and value the effort and hard work the PFP put in as custodians of the format. Agree that i think you're doing a great job and i love the video updates from Gavin. Agree it would be amazing to have a centralised pauper hub, with more regular snippets from the PFP and links to community channels/content.

i recently built Amulet Titan. Took it to a modern fnm and just didnt have funm. Pauper reigns supreme. I think the elf popularity is the result of people running less sweepers because hard removal is popular right now to combat Terror style decks.

Pauper is the future of magic. Nobody likes losing because they can't keep up with the Jones's. I love pauper because even though I can afford to keep up with recent decks, I never liked feeling like the guy with the money wins. Pauper solves this. It's fun, and brewing is open and diverse and nobody feels like they cant afford to win.

@@LyleH-13 that is strange? I dont do every episode, but i do test them in the car, with headphones and without and usually they are okay, the level i generally forget in the intro.

@CastingCommonsPodcast I dunno. it's very consistent. Even the episode with Carl, he was clearer because he has the fancy microphone but it was still quiet in comparison to every other video on KZread i watch.

I played a couple games with demand answer in madness burn and it's just ok, you need 3 mana and 2 cards to draw 2 and do 3 damage, at the end of the day it's just fine. I cut it down to 2 and it feels just fine, you also have blood to sacrifice so there is that, it just help to finish game when you run out of gas.

Hey! I've been loving the pod! I listen on Google Podcasts right now, but that won't be an option much longer, unfortunately. I pulled it up here because I wanted to shoot you an update on the Binghamton, NY $2K results. The Top 8 is accurate, however, the 9-16 results don't get put in in order. They are pooled and weighted the same way resulting in an accurate Top 8 with an alphabetical list for 9-16. I can't speak to the 10th place deck because I forgot to screenshot companion, but the 9th place list was actually me on Kuldotha Red! I missed on breakers. If anyone knows how to pull up past event results in companion, I'd love to know! And, one fun bit of information before I go. There were only three (3) Mono R players, myself and the player in the Top 8 on Kuldotha, and the lone traditional Burn player. It was a great event! Thanks for covering our slice of the community!

Pauper is really the key to Magics competitive future. There is a whole generation of Magic players who started in the last 5 or 6 years who have literally never shuffled less than 99 cards because they were introduced with and have only ever played commander. Competetive magic is dying but the low barrier to entry is the key to turning on this new generation. People like you guys are helping blaze the trail keeping Pauper content alive while the format continues to gain traction.
