  it is heavily implied the cores on Glados are the most recent and the ones in portal 2 are older, so this model would make sense as it seems newer and sleeker compared to the portal two cores

  Nah, they just retconned the design. GLaDOS herself looks different, despite her core definitely being in the same room as last time.

  @@ReddwarfIV glados is broken Because of the whole ya know blowing up thing. Also the cube designs weren’t retconned since at the end of portal 2 the companion cube is the same design from portal 1

  @greggoleggo9160 She didn't become a different aesthetic design from breaking. The game wants you to believe that's what she actually looked like all along. I'm aware of the Companion Cube. You're right that it shows the cubes are a new design in-universe. That doesn't mean everything else is.

  @@ReddwarfIV glados’s design has changed yes but it’s clear that she has been damaged to some degree and I’m not arguing that the portal 2 design is the one valve will use nothing forward I just meant that the reason for glados looking different is that she was damaged from portal 1 and she didn’t repair herself because her portal 2 design allows for more freedom of movement and more expressions on her core. Yeah the main body has changed but I’m saying that it’s a little bit more than a retcon.

  @@ReddwarfIV if you look at the glades wake up design you can see its very similar to the portal 1 design but lacking certain plates and having looser parts, also its also an art style change as glados rom portal 2 has more detail, and the head could be different because it lost plating
