Watched this twice at Drury Lane Theater. Overall an excellent performance. Curious changes from the original detracting little. Still, well done, thoroughly enjoyable, and truly a night of a thousand stars. Magaldi was my favorite, but Juan Domingo and Che also shined. Evita played a difficult part quite well. I will think of this when I next lay flowers for her in Recoleta. My thanks.

My sister and I just recently went and saw Forever Plaid at Drury Lane and made reservations for lunch at Lucille's before the show. The show was great but we were very disappointed in the food at Lucille's (not as good as previous times in the restaurant) so not as expected. I had a cheeseburger which was pretty tasty and my sister had a turkey club. a roll and butter came with the meal. The roll didn't taste very fresh and the butter tasted like it was sitting in the refrigerator, had a funky taste. French fries came with both meals. We asked if we could substitute the fries for fruit or a vegetable but there were no substitutions they said because of COVID! The fries were not very good at all. They tasted like store-bought frozen fries. We thought the ice cream cart was very nice. I had one scoop of vanilla and one scoop of strawberry. My toppings were peanuts and whip cream. Very good. But there was no chocolate syrup offered, which would have been nice. Overall, the meal was almost $40 - way overpriced for what we got. The 20% was already added on so we had no choice there.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Touhou. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also the references to Japanese mythology and philosophy , which is deftly woven into each and every characterisation - such as Yukari’s personal ability which draws heavily from Lencioni’s theory, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realize that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Touhou truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Marisa’s quippy remark "Looks more to me like 'Man uses the decimal system," which itself is a cryptic reference to Japanese linguistic. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as ZUN's genius unfolds itself on their computer screens. What fools... how I pity them. 😂 And yes by the way, I DO have a Mini-Hakkero tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the lolis’ eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 graze points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.

I love this staging of Joseph (ATATC) being visibly traumatized by his brothers. He's so clearly in shock and overwhelmed and that small touch of his brother and him waving him off was so layered. From the brother's point of view, it's "don't touch the viceroy" but Joseph's almost imperceptible shiver says he's saying "don't touch me!" and visibly reliving his ordeal. Masterful.

@@colehamilton5917 Agreed. That tamborine is masterful, it's adding to the tension and I almost see it as his heartbeat quickening. It's a great dramatic one, one of the most I've seen as well and I've seen many.
