I give utmost respect to the writer. The show in my country is trash for the lack of good writing. This scene can easily be cheesy and doesn't maake sense, but they build ted's character one step after another beautifully. To he highlight, his own situation separated from his wife and son, make him understand rebecca's (is that her name, i forget) shoes.

I believe, ted lasso writers used the Alan Iverson "practice" thing from an interview years and years ago. I could be wrong, but more times than not, Hollywood does put things into movies/tv shows like that sometimes...you just have to see/hear it to believe it.

I'm 43, and this has been happening to me since I was 6 ... and I never understood it until I was in my late-20s ... the difference with me is, I actually faint - pass the fuck out - but I can feel it (I believe Epileptics call it an Aura) - and every time it has happened, I have told someone - sometime friends or family, sometimes random strangers in public- "I'm going to faint, I'm sorry to bother you, I need help..." - and WITHOUT FAIL, the person laughs, says *the EXACT SAME WORDS* ... "Ha... You're going to faint, huh??" ... and then 30-60seconds later, I wake up on the ground , not knowing where I am or what happened, and see a horrified face looking down going "OH MY *GOD* , YOU FAINTED!!!" ... Uhh.. Yeah... I tried to tell you ... and I know EXACTLY what Ted was going through there... I always try to "retreat" and GTFOutta there, so nobody sees it ... Maybe find a safe and secluded spot I can sit down before I go down etc. Actually watching The Sopranos helped a tremendous amount ... I thought I was the only human with that problem, seeing Tony have the same thing as me, and that it's a medical condition, made a huge help!

Forgiveness is a powerful act that brings emotional healing, improved mental health, and enhanced relationships. By letting go of anger and resentment, individuals can experience profound relief and peace, leading to better overall well-being. Forgiveness also fosters personal growth and empowers people to take control of their emotional responses, contributing to a more fulfilling and purposeful life. While forgiveness can be challenging, especially in the face of deep or ongoing hurt, it is a transformative process that offers freedom and empowerment. It allows individuals to mend broken relationships, improve physical health, and align with higher ethical and spiritual values. Embracing forgiveness does not mean condoning harmful behavior but rather freeing oneself from the burdens of the past and moving forward with empathy and understanding.

Rebecca was never a character you could truly hate. Hannah does such an amazing job portraying the feelings behind all the actions, you can understand the hurt. In fact, the more we see of Rupert (especially in season 3), the easier it becomes to side with Rebecca's relentless determination to hurt the pr*ck by any means necessary. This man hurts so many people, and when Rebecca had had enough of his abuse he doubled down on his behavior specifically to rub salt in her wounds. Nothing seems to phase him, except for football. Richmond is the one thing he cares about above all else, *until he decides to just buy another team.* You want to see this man get his comeuppance _so damn bad,_ but everything just seems to slide off him!

This coaching technique has always been interesting to me. Ted already knows Jamie is the way he is because he’s “hurt” while Jamie doesn’t think people can really see that he has deep rooted issues with himself and his dad. Jamie may have thought that his dad “toughened” him up but Ted practically demonstrated how easily he can see his insecurities nearly making Jamie cry. Note: I believe this is also the episode where Ted was having bouts with ‘Semantic Satiation’ “When you say a word so much it loses it meaning”. So while Jamie may have used the word “hurt” to denote a faux injury, Ted immediately showed him just how meaningful it actually is.

What’s truly great about this scene and the performances is that Ted *is* angry. You can see it in his eyes, he feels hurt and betrayed, but rather than give into that he listens and allows those feelings to wash over him and it allows him to understand and forgive Rebecca.

When Ted starts the "divorce is hard" few lines, Rebecca visibly breaks, though it takes til he makes her laugh for her to fully show it. She feels seen and understood in a way no one but Ted could provide. The greatest thing about this show is the humanity. There is no one completely irredeemable except perhaps Rupert. But even he gets some human moments because few people are just plain evil. He's greedy and treacherous and wants to be on top of everyone else, but there are things he loves dearly. Every other antagonist and threat to Ted and his team is fully humanized and not defeated with kindness, but won over to the greater team. AFC Richmond isn't just the athletes on the pitch. It's the people behind them who love them and each other and become better humans because of each other. This show was a bright flash of goodness and I forsee it being timeless.
