    This video is very quick to assign causality where there is only correlation... I would also very strongly recommend examining your definitions of what constitutes a populist government. Very big difference between a populist government in statement and a populist government in action.

    The question is not 'copyright vs no copyright'. The question is how long copyright should last. When it is under 40 years, yes, it can spur on more works and innovation. But push it past that and it starts doing the opposite.

    It's a form of social control in a way that the government instills fearing us and rules over us without it actually having to be said and we all a lot of ourselves and tell us it's to keep criminals off the street when really we're all criminals according to the federal law because everything is pretty much illegal

    Accountability for public officials and organizations intentionally spreading falsehoods. Either those spreading the bad information need to go or the people susceptible to it need to go.

    Somehow the fundamental explanation for why people are poor doesn't feature? That they live in places that don't have institutions that support wealth generation? The biggest movement of people out of poverty in the recent past - in India and China - cannot be explained at all by these mechanisms!

    How does it relate to other theory of state formation? The one about serial grains being easier to tax and hence leading to formation of a hierarchical taxing elite. This was covered in a previous video. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pn57q9ptXd2veLg.html

    The problem isn’t that we are living in 2 different universes. We are all living in the same universe, but half of us are looking through blue tinted glasses and the other half through red. So, we are all seeing the same events, but half of us are told to have a red opinion, and the other half are told the opposite. We don’t see an event and then come to our own red and blue conclusions. The biases in our news sources influence our conclusions and solidify our preexisting biases thereby furthering the political divide. Does anyone know of a study on the effects of political bias in media on the opinions formed about the events being discussed? I would love to see if the evidence supports or contradicts my conclusions.

    Another problem is that “red” and “blue” aren’t the only political viewpoints. There are a whole variety of complicated views yet they aren’t represented by our outdated two party system.

    it's so sad to see how many people believe that we can't tax the rich, they are rich because they hoard the money, they don't deserve it more than a farmer or a nurse. Maybe someday you will understand that the rich are not your friends and it's partly because of them and mainly because of capitalism that you need to live a miserable life. Things could be better, you could have free healthcare, free university but you are losing it all to make the wealthy wealthier

  • @vinchino
    @vinchino5 ай бұрын

    That’s what you called communism. These rich individuals, whether you like them or not, they start businesses and hire people. They rich because of their smart or lucky decisions. They’re rich cuz they’re cheap. Just because they’re on the lucky spectrum, doesn’t mean you have to punish them because you’re jealous. Don’t point finger, go out there and change your life. If you try hard, you may be better, but your kids are gonna be better off if you teach them correctly, and your grandkids finally become rich and successful. That’s how the riches are made, passing from generational wealth.

    @@vinchino And then there's the mutliple homes, multiple holidays, personal aeroplanes, ostentatious goods, and the like. I could forgive all that if they didn't hide their assets in complicated schemes, parking it in tax havens when they have made money from a population but don't want to funds hospitals, schools, etc. Even more, they shouldn't be lobbying for special treatment for themeselves and their businesses, or funding political misinformation or undermining democracy. That's what you call capitalism.
