    precise, on topic video. Much appreciated. A question regarding choosing the country market placement. I'm located in Poland. Product will be sold through Polish websites. Suppose I get a client from Slovakia who orders the product. If it's through a Polish website is it enough to have the product submitted to Polish market? Or would I have to first submit it on Slovakian market in order to sell it to a Slovakian client?

    As I have emphasized before, including during HCFs in Helsinki, we would appreciate it if ECHA could assist developing countries, especially MENA countries, in reducing and regulating toxic pollution. In this context, ECHA could offer expertise in establishing effective regulatory frameworks and providing technical assistance for monitoring and managing toxic pollutants. Such collaboration would not only benefit the environment but also contribute to the sustainable development goals of these nations.

    Thank you for your feedback and for highlighting this important issue. ECHA supports global efforts to reduce and regulate toxic pollution. We actively share our expertise in establishing effective regulatory frameworks and offer technical assistance for monitoring and managing toxic pollutants. For example, ECHA has been involved in international capacity-building initiatives and collaborates with various global organisations to enhance chemical safety. We also provide training and resources that help other countries implement best practices for chemical management and contribute to international projects and platforms, such as the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM), to promote safer use of chemicals worldwide. Through these efforts, we help foster sustainable development and environmental protection globally. We remain committed to continuing these collaborations and expanding our support to developing nations in their efforts to manage toxic pollution effectively. More information on our international activities is available at: echa.europa.eu/about-us/partners-and-networks/international-cooperation

    Hi @chandrakantbhavsar2340, The restriction proposal on PFAS covers manufacturing, placing on the market (including imports) and use of PFAS as substances and in mixtures and articles (products). The five authorities have identified at least 14 major sectors where PFAS are used. These sectors include among others transport. You can check more in the five authorities’ initial proposal, on page 54: echa.europa.eu/documents/10162/f605d4b5-7c17-7414-8823-b49b9fd43aea.

    What if one of my components is a polymer without a CAS or EC number?. I'm trying to complete the "mixture composition" section of my product but it's hard as my polymer (ingredient) doesn't have a reference substance so, I can't allocate a CAS number or not even a EC number or IUPAC name.

    In section "mixture data sheets and toxicological information", in which language you have to fill the toxicological information? Depends on the coutry you submit the respective product? In your video, your submission is on Sweden and Finland PCN and your toxicological information is English.

  • @ECHA
    @ECHA7 ай бұрын

    Hi @FDim01 and thank you for your question. Yes, the notification was for Finland which requires the languages Finnish and Swedish for the free text fields including in the toxicological information section. In the video, you can see that the two language fields have been created for the toxicological information (FI and SV). As the video is described for demonstration purposes only, some example text was used to complete these sections and the voice confirms that the text used in the example was simply a copy and paste from the PCN practical guide explaining more about this section. You can refer to our PCN practical guide in your preferred language for more tips: poisoncentres.echa.europa.eu/prepare-and-submit-a-pcn

  • @ECHA
    @ECHA8 ай бұрын

    Hi @okayophelia3812, The reference substances can be downloaded from the IUCLID website (iuclid6.echa.europa.eu/get-reference-substances) in a few simple steps, but please note that the set of reference substances available for download is not maintained and errors and inconsistencies can exist. It is the responsibility of the notifier to verify the information used in the notification. Given that the information required for creating your own reference substances for poison centre notification is limited to a name and an identifier, it may be preferable to undertake this task yourself. Either way, we are currently updated our PCN practical guide, but in section 5.3 you will find more detailed information about how to either download/create and link reference substance to a dataset. poisoncentres.echa.europa.eu/documents/1789887/1803644/pcn_practical_guide_en.pdf/ You may also like to visit our poison centre website for a more updated video tutorial on how to prepare a poison centre notification here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nISA3Jade7m-c6w.html Thank you for your question and should you need any further support, you can contact us at: echa.europa.eu/contact.

    Dear Sir/Madam, as mentioned in slide 3, there are roughly 10 000 PFASs. May i know where can we get a list of PFASs that containg "10 000 PFASs" that ECHA has identified? and is it the same list that what have in EPA PFAS Master list?

  • @ECHA
    @ECHA Жыл бұрын

    Thank you for your question. The restriction proposal does not contain a list of PFAS because the substances in scope are defined by their chemical structure rather than by their numerical identifiers. Therefore, we recommend that you refer to the definition provided in the Annex XV restriction report. Note that the proposal has been prepared by the national authorities of Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark and Norway - not ECHA.

    What if instead of bans we transition to an allowed chemical list? As scientists we all know how fast it is to create a very similar replacement that is equally harmful and can't be banned until it to is tested. So the solution? Create an acceptable chemical list based on current science.

    It is clearly said that only some PFAS are toxic and bioaccumulative. Others are to be investigated. Chemistry sais that a majority of the PFAS are "only" persistant. Is only persistant enough to ban a product like Fluoropolymers that are not toxic, not bioaccumulative and do not degradate to any such product. Fluoropolymers are essential to fight against the global climate crisis!!!!

  • @ChielScape
    @ChielScape Жыл бұрын

    This is correct. Fluoropolymers are essential, for example, in high performance, high capacity and high efficiency industrial refrigeration and heat-pump installations. Alternative rubber types are not suitable for the natural, low/zero GDP refrigerants that allow these machines to reach their high efficiency at the pressures and temperatures at which they operate. If we ban PFAS completely, we lose access to these high efficiency machines and much more CO2 will need to be expelled for cooling and heating purposes, the necessity of both of which I hope are obvious. And this is one of many examples in the energy sector. Rubber O-rings also tend not to end up in the water supply or in my Big Mac, so the point of banning these escapes me entirely.

    With the EU ban on cosmetics tests on animals came the promise of a Europe in which animals no longer suffer and die for the sake of cosmetics. That promise has been broken. Authorities still demand animal tests on ingredients used in cosmetics, which goes against the expectations and wishes of the public and the intention of legislators. Yet, never have we had such powerful non-animal tools for assuring safety or such a golden opportunity to revolutionise human and environmental protection. The European Commission must uphold and strengthen the ban and transition to animal-free safety assessment. We call on the European Commission to do the following: 1. Protect and strengthen the cosmetics animal testing ban. Initiate legislative change to achieve consumer, worker, and environmental protection for all cosmetics ingredients without testing on animals for any purpose at any time. 2. Transform EU chemicals regulation. Ensure human health and the environment are protected by managing chemicals without the addition of new animal testing requirements. 3. Modernise science in the EU. Commit to a legislative proposal plotting a roadmap to phase-out all animal testing in the EU before the end of the current legislative term. Thank you.

    Swedes will no longer be able to practise "hageljaktstig" after EUs prohibition takes effect. The interpretation of "wetlands" according to the Ramsar convention effectively makes most, if not all, of Sweden a "wetland". And as the prohibition stands, to even have lead ammunition in your possession, is illegal if you are within 100m from a puddle or ditch. Yes, lead should be phased out, WHEN a viable option can be had. Which is not now. Edit: comment above is only for lead shot, not lead bullets. For lead bullets there are good, lead free, alternatives
