Don't do it! I cringe when people do this. Even ZWO don't advise placing it on an equatorial mount, you're going to void the warranty! . The gearing inside are plastic and over time the drive mesh will wear away, and all you will end up with is an expensive door stop.

Hello! I don't like the fact that the bob has some negative potential energy, -mgL, when it's at its equilibrium position (I understand it's arbitrary, but it's not very intuitive to lift the bob to the x-axis and declare it has zero potential energy! Not to mention, lifting it directly vertical and declaring it has but mgL potential energy when it is 2L away from the equilibrium position is also awkward). I would rather we write the potential as U = mgL(1-cos(θ)), where h = L-Lcos(θ). This gives us zero potential energy at equilibrium, mgL potential at the x-axis, and mg2L when vertical.

but where's the demo? (if anybody else is interested, alpha phoenix did a video where he shows electricity propagating with the speed of light through a circuit). Also, 1ns isn't that tiny: it corresponds to a 1GHz signal. Your average desktop CPU runs at ~3GHz

Hey thank you so much! I don’t know what exactly I’m looking for so if someone could help me with search terms? I have chronic pain, no core strength, and I believe things are shifting that contribute to me having less balance. I love to bounce, squat, dance, swing around, anything like that. I have even more fun experimenting with the fluidity of my body when I’m drunk and am not held back by my pain :P I would be more flexible if pain didn’t hold me back too :) I just want to find more activities that I could do that have the same feeling

Great lecture series, thank you!! I had some initial confusion which resolved itself - may be worth sharing with fellow learners. I was thinking, even if the train moves at a constant velocity (hence in an inertial reference frame) and the traveler observes a free falling object - detached from the body of the train - in front, then it will appear to be coming towards him. On further thought, the distinction is the following. In the above description, the mass is initially kept attached to the body of the train till being dropped. So, in the constant velocity scenario the mass has already acquired the velocity of the train, so the traveler inside will observe it to be falling straight down upon being dropped. However, in the acceleration scenario (non-inertial reference S), he will still observe the mass to be rushing towards him upon being dropped.

One problem I am struggling to wrap my head around, is why a 60W bulb glows brighter than a 100W when wired in series, specifically. Our prof made us do this experiment, but the explanation is still unclear to me. Resistance is greater across the 60W....but why would that make it burn *brighter* ?
