que puedo desear mas de lo que su ingenio me trasmite gracias mil
He is one of the best!!
Beautiful 😂
Who’s on piano? And is that Ziggy Elman playing the trumpet solo? Sensational. It’s pretty amazing to realize that so many years after the Swing era that Benny could attract a standing room only crowd to such a big venue. Not a chance of that happening nowadays.
I think it is Dick Hyman. But I am not 100% sure. Have a nice day.
His fingers are dancing on that keyboard!
He has a face of a good man! His fingers are beautiful! Joy all the way.
Ditto to all the below comments. Some people should get a forever pass to life. Erroll Garner is one such person. Thanks to youtube in a real sense he has. Wow!!
I have no words in english to describe this genious....what an man...what an feeling....when will there be born an new pianist of this caliper??
truly awesome talent... love the 'here we go' moments. will someone PLEASE hurry up and invent a time machine
So good !
❤
prachtig.. dank :-)
No question, Erroll was a force of nature!
Mooie demo.! 🎩
Dank je!!
BG never disappoints! This band has a happy swing with burning solos. I think it looks like Stan Levey on drums ~1:43-1:53.
Wow, what an incredible band and what incredible energy. Benny is clearly NOT going to let that trumpet player get the best solo in this number and he just releases it. Incredible!
I can hear a little eroll in red garlands piano playing
Eroll certainly has that big muscular sound on piano. Fantastic playing
What genius. Doesn’t even glance at his hands. SMH
geni cosi ne esistono pochi. Lo ascolto per ore e ore
That was special.... absolutely special.
Plain and simple, Errol always makes me happy. Such a gracious performer and truly one of the greatest that ever lived.
Just watching Error's facial expressions is worth the price of admission.
He was like a computational machine with a heart. Incredible technical virtuosity with an innate grasp of the gist of the piece and complex phrasings that are superhuman in scope. All without looking at the keyboard. Like going for a Sunday stroll.
He possessed something uniquely special, far different and beyond even what the other giants of 20th century jazz piano, such as Art Tatum and Oscar Peterson, could ever achieve.
I am a giant fan of Garner however, I don’t think any knowledgeable jazz aficionados place him above Tatum
He is so happy.
神業👍
Fantastic!
It's so incredibly ironic to me that the original song was devised to disenchant the audience in Brecht's conception of estrangement from the emotional content in order to get them thinking about the sociopolitical implications. I'm not sure Brecht or the composer Kurt Weil would love the transformation, complete with key changes to 'raise the tension' in the music.
I completely agree with you. But still it's a real 'show-stopper' at the end of a performance with all the modulations (one half note up of all the time).
Right after the intro, Erroll looks left and smiles at Eddie Calhoun as if to say.... we're on the same page. There is so much joy in Erroll Garner's playing.
Lady piano feeling
Garner could read music? So why is he looking around the room? Surely the music is written on the walls and faces of the people in the audience. His eyes are not even on the keyboard.
Unreal! This gets better every time I listen to it. And the subtlety of his touch is exquisite.
❤
Han är guld på piano/ flygel
There is a saying Don't be the best one- be the only one...There's only one Erroll Garner, just like there's only one Thelonius Monk....
❤❤
Super
this astonishes me!
Me too 👌
We can only hope the people watching Erroll play understand they were witnessing one of the world's best piano players EVER.
Not having to look at hands.
I love the guy. It was a pity he left the sustained pedal depressed through many phrases, instead of using it to bracket the phrases. He never gave it any thought. This really degraded his music.
I cannot hear what you're talking about and I teach jazz and classical piano for a living. Perhaps you have better speakers or something. I'm listening through earbuds.
Garner, Oscar and Tatum...The best ever, who is the greatest is just a question of taste...
Lovely tune
Love the stinger at the end. BG's band is always tight!
Monky of piano
A marvellous sound of mambo in this wonderful tune
In Brüssel ist mein feeling mannher
The human brain is a wonderful thing, to be able to produce this amazingly complex feat...genius isn't enough praise.
