    100LL , higher octane WILL kill power in a motor because it burns SLOWER. People think the higher the octane the more power. Burns SLOWER. In race cars, this allows them to run higher ignition timing....earlier burn and keeps from detenation. I run it in everything PLUS Marvels M Oil. it has a shelf life of 4 plus years. best for emergency generators, hot rods that dont see road time, snow blowers. and it smells good.

    I fuel airplanes for a living, and I have access to LOTS of avgas 100LL and mogas 91 (zero ethanol). I burn both in my car and it loves it. Although I have bypassed O2 sensors and a cat (soon to delete) there actually is no other issue with burning 100LL in your car except spark plug fouling. I check mine monthly and lightly sand blast fouling off and good as new

    Ricky C is by far the best in motocross and Jeremy M in Supercross. I feel with they both should race again for people to see that age does not matter. I know that in 6 months of training Jeremy can be ready for Supercross and Ricky ready for motocross. The reason they retire is they get burned out of many years of race no and all the hell that goes with it. It’s not age! They loose the eye of the tiger and just don’t care as much if they win or loose. I just think it would be awesome to see them do what Mike Tyson is doing. Motocross is so similar to boxing by having to be fit as well as being able to think quick. I would say they need to race maybe every other race and I’m sure they would get paid huge money to do so. People would show up just to see them race even if they didn’t do very well. No one expects them to win every race. That’s not realistic but they still have what it takes to fight to the front

    I've seen the results of some back to back fuel tests on the dyno. The engines were pure race high compression 2 strokes making 130hp. The tests were VP-C14 and Av Gas 100LL. Compression ratio 15:1 The 2 fuels made the same hp but the Av Gas was more consistent pull after pull. In all my experience, there is no need to be buying race fuel if you have access to Av Gas 100LL and I would not call Av Gas the "poor mans racing fuel" as it's better performing then racing fuels. Fact.

  • @ComputerCapone

    2 stroke wont run at 15:1. Most performance 2 strokes are 10:1 max. And them wont run high rpm because of mechanical pumping loss.

  • @truthbetold8425
    @truthbetold84254 ай бұрын

    @@ComputerCapone Not sure where you're getting your information from - it's not accurate. I've had factory Rotax 2 stroke 340cc racing engines at 17:1 (this is max or won't pull the RPM) and these engines made peak power at 10500 - 10600 rpm making anywhere from high 90's to 101hp. All my 250 2 strokes I've built (YZ and RM) run right around the 15:1 area, and run about 1500 - 1700 higher peak RPM than stock. Port timing and pipe are the biggest contributing factor to making high compression 2 strokes work right.

    @@truthbetold8425 swept volume dont count.

  • @truthbetold8425
    @truthbetold84254 ай бұрын

    @@ComputerCapone There is no way to calculate true swept volume in a 2 stroke. So the ratio is the reference number of how high you can go with CR. You stated max 10:1 in a 2 stroke. Just how can you possibly accurately measure that? You cannot. Not to mention the boost effect of the pipe drastically increasing the cylinder pressure (did you know you can actually measure cylinder pressure with sensors?). Even a 4 stroke CR cannot be accurately calculated and must use swept volume, especially with variable valve timing overlap. Not sure why you're arguing, because the arguments don't make sense.

    What's better about it in your application? It makes the same or less power, has lower energy density, and it's toxic to anyone you're riding with or near. Unless you have a bike with detonation problems, you're not gaining any advantage and you're paying 2x the price to use fuel that's proven to make you dumber. There is a huge link between tetraethyl lead and loss of cognitive function. I tune turbo cars professionally, I've tuned thousands and only one ever on 100LL (customer was in a country with no other option for performance fuel). It made good power, but that was with appropriate hardware and tuning. If you just dump it in a vehicle that was made for pump gas, you don't gain a thing. Some leaded race gas will actually lose a ton of power on a factory tune because the burn rate is so slow, if you don't have them on the dyno or have previous data with the same engine you'll never get the timing right.

    In the past I ran 115/145 purple avgas in a Porsche, it ran extremely well. The problem I see in your video is you are correct in that internal combustion engines do run very well on leaded avgas but people need to understand if you put it in a street vehicle that has functional catalytic converters they risk the probability the cats will melt internally and the vehicle can catch on fire.

    Yes. In every engine I run this in, you need to jet richer. I run Mikuni SBN diaphragm carbs on water cooled two stroke engines. In my experience, the adjusters are about two more turns richer than ideal settings on pump gas. This equates to two jet sizes larger, or you could split the difference and only go one size up and use your adjusters to tune between pump gas or avgas.
