The premise of this video is HEAVILY flawed. Yes, if you're a grandmaster level player, your gold teammates will not stop you from ranking up. I agree that you should focus on your skills and mistakes, but the amount of games you need to rank up grows extremely quickly, if your skill level is only a little higher than some of your teammates. So if your skill is on a GM level, you might need 20 games to get out of gold. If you're a plat, you will need 100 games or more. And that is the problem for most people, I think. Not everyone has the time to commit and that's why the few games you can play are so frustrating when your tank hugs the enemy spawn and dies every 60s or your DPS doesn't switch while getting counter picked etc. All those "tips" videos have a massive survivorship bias. "Worked for me, so ya'll need to do this".

The point is to accelerate your growth to becoming a gm level player. Understanding and applying the concepts from this video, and others like it is a step in that direction.

@@jax345- yeah, you're probably right. Even if I don't think everyone has a chance at becoming GM.

your teammates are indeed holding you back , you cannot solo carry it's impossible , it's a teamgame , only grandmasters can wipe out whole teams themselves and not always , stop coping , only if your team is playing at least average you can carry , if your team is all dead it's imposible to do anything

Find the players on your team that seem to know what they are doing, play WITH them. Do things to set them up or pay attention to their plays and notice when they set you up. Don’t overextend unless you’re a flank and have a plan with the team. If you keep dying and spam “need healing”, focus more on playing on angles and keeping yourself alive. If your support is decent but you keep dying, that’s on you. You may be overextended and we are trying to keep ourselves and the rest of the team players alive. Sincerely, a solo queue support main introvert that loses a lot of games from players that do the opposite of everything i mentioned above.

i have been playing this game pretty casually since launch, but you provide the single best approach to the game of any of the youtube coaches i've seen. i don't even play dps but the way you describe positioning clearly and concise and ACTUALLY teach is incredible. absolutely love this content.

What I’ve learned when flanking as tracer is it is so important not to throw your life away and die. The enemy team worrying about you behind them is so powerful, that fear is gone the moment you’re dead. Especially with Moira too, you can semi engage with her every 5 seconds, you don’t have to 1v1 her. Although, when the supports learn to just ignore you, you can capitalize off of that and start pushing in much more. And if your team is smart, they can capitalize off of the supports not being able to heal from the pressure you create on their back line. Every support can be vulnerable to do this except maybe a very smart mercy who can avoid you. Obviously though, no mercy is so smart that they can avoid you the whole game. At some point she will make a mistake. Again though, tracers other weakness can be a smart enemy team that learns to focus you. But again, if you have a smart team they can learn to push in from that too. Tracer is so powerful of a character it’s not even funny. The reason you should always focus supports is because of how much more impact a support not being in a team fight is than you.

The amount of times I flank behind and force the enemies to make that decision is unreal. The issue is my team NEVER follows up on it. The tank never distracts the tank, leaving me to get annihilated when flanking

This was kinda difficult to conceptualise in my brain. It almost feels like you werent a tank because you're not frontlining and being a damage sponge but really youre letting the enemy close the distance and keeping track of general location + cooldowns etc. At times it felt like you were being too passive and playing too far back/not having a presence especially on defence but because of DVAs mobility plus info collection makes you super annoying not only on offence but because youre keeping track of locations you can swing around and help your team in a moments notice. Also when u called out the panic sleep cos of the reload visual queue I lost my shit
