Do the games ever go on sale on switch eshop?
I’m a bit late to the party when it comes to the Nintendo Switch but I’m planning on getting as many games as I want before it’s too late. Unfortunately, I didn’t do that with the Nintendo 3DS and I’m hoping to learn from that mistake.
Do you give consideration to whether a physical game requires a download to play and the impact this might have on longevity if the eshop is removed in future?

Im curious as to your reasons for disliking Kotaku. I stopped following them a few years back as they were getting more political. I even wrote to their editor regarding a particularly slanderous article they published. I wasn’t aware that there was more general contempt for them and am curious if it’s for other reasons. Love your content by the way. I recently discovered your channel and it’s such a pleasure to watch.
Cat quest games shoot up in price insanely fast, i’d preorder cat quest 3 immediately.
Sometimes i think i buy these games with the hope that once i retire i will have a chance to complete them, lol. As i really dont have the time to play all the games i want at the moment.

I completely agree that DS games look better in their original format and not stretched out on the 3DS screen. I was really happy to learn that you can make your 3DS run them in their original resolution. The instructions from Nintendo's support page are: "Press and hold START or SELECT when loading the game from the HOME Menu. This will cause the game to display in a lower resolution." It made a big difference for me with older Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright games. The Zelda Oracle games were my favorite Zelda games to play growing up, but I always did need to play them in the order of Seasons first. Then Ages. Because you get an extra heart boost when starting whichever is your second/sequel game, and there was a dungeon midway through Ages that I could never manage to beat without an extra heart. (It was death by kees of all things otherwise.) Golden Sun series is to this day my favorite RPG. Though I do always need a list of the djinn locations on hand for the first game, because it is possible to miss a djinn if you don't get it before a certain event in the game. The game was still very enjoyable, though, even when I missed the little guy on my first playthrough, so he's certainly optional.

I pre-ordered a copy of Persona 4 Golden from my local video game store. Wondered why I never got the call to pickup when VideoGamesPlus received their copies on time. I decided to call my local store after VGP sold out of their copies. The person on the phone told me there was a delay and that the P4G games should arrive in two weeks. A month passed. I had to speak to the store owner in-person to find out what happened. Apparently some wholesaler in the U.S. intercepted the copies that were supposed to arrive at my local store in Canada. For my store to get the video games that they pre-ordered, they had to pay the wholesaler double retail price. My disappointment was immeasurable. Double the price for the standard editions! Naturally, that cost was passed on to me. Only reason I accepted was because I saved cash earlier this year for an event that was cancelled. Long story short, I'm done with Limited Run and limited prints. They create scarcity both by printing a low amount of copies and selling a significant amount of those to their friends in retail. It isn't even a secret. It isn't just the limited print companies who are guilty, either. SEGA/ATLUS could print and distribute P3P and P4G if they wanted to. It's likely cheaper to outsource it. Even the developers and publishers I like are pissing me off. I don't want the next Nintendo console. I want out. I'm buying what I want for the Switch this year and then never turning back. The new generation of gamers/collectors will be the ones to hold these manipulative businesses accountable. Or allow them to continue. Time will tell.
I absolutely love your collection! I've been a huge gamer my whole life and have a pretty massive collection myself going all the way back to the Nes even though I've sadly had to start over from scratch several times as living in Reno Nevada for many years 5 entire game collections were stolen from me.
I HIGHLY recommend Dave the Diver as I saw it was on your list! I just got the Platinum trophy on PS4 as it's available on PS Plus premium right now and I invested 247 hours and loved EVERY second, I literally couldn't put it down.

Y's is so underrated, they're some very enjoyable games, and I was fortunate enough to secure some physicals of the psp games (Y's l and ll and then Y's 7). OH and I'm not resting until I have a physical copy of Unicorn Overlord, that game and 13 Sentinels are pure beauty💯.
I've been downgradin, sellin off any games I'll never play, which is why collectin physical is so much better, it allows you to get some return on investment.
CLICKBAIT! By saying "don't take this as me speculating", then go and say these games will be more rare, due to the end of life cycle IS the same as SPECULATING. And this is clickbait, because the games will not be more rare, expensive, why? The Switch II launch won't have an abundance in games to select from. We know this. Most will continue with the original Switch, well until something is announced that will pull consumers away from using consoles in the first place, at least until the name of titles build. Retail stores are still selling PS4 games, because consumers are still buying. It's about supply, demand and there are a lot of new people to the Switch.

It could be different from one to another. Nintendo is the one company that will stay physical at least for now! Physical games in Japan still sell insanely well.

no indie games here, most of those games require internet for patches not really physical games
I have actually been on a ps4, 360, and switch games buying freaking spree!!!! You guys definitely need to get a Alan wake 2 physical, IT WILL be worth money someday
Don't forget to buy hardware, controllers specifically. People underestimate controllers going out of print, but it happens every console gen, and it really sucks when you need one years later. To this day, I can only find knock off PS3 controllers, and PS4 controllers are in the same boat.
Didn't realize this when I bought like 4 PS3 controllers back in the day. I just wanted the red blue gold and silver colors lol. And aren't PS4 controllers in stores still? I thought I saw them in Walmart or GameStop recently.
@@TwoGendersOnly Maybe certain stores still have them, but store like Best Buy around where I am have none. The only way I can get a PS4 controller is if I buy a refurbished PS4 that comes with one.
I'm pretty sure we talked about this, but I can't remember what you said -- have you played Undertale at all? I think I remember you saying you didn't find the art style appealing, but that's all I remember from the conversation...😅
Anything Atlus or NIS end up being hard to find and super expensive
