Phenomenally good! But here is an amusing story. I have a 1974 P6 V8, and while parked, some silly Herbert backed a Fiat 500 into the drivers side front wing, it caved in just behind the light, but the back of the Fiat was demolished. I took it to a garage where they tried to pull the dent, and failed. They tried everything, eventually resorting to removing the wheel and hammering it from behind, the metal did not move. Another garage that specialised in classic cars laughed at my story, and told me you'd need a hydraulic bodywork tool to move that dent or better yet, slice it off and weld in a repair section. The panels for many older cars were made using massive presses, and a P6 wing is multiple metal sheets welded together. I find it sad really, that I can flex the panels on my newish BMW with my fingers, but my old Rover won't even flinch if you try and lean into it with your knee.
@1st_track_dents12 күн бұрын
Yes, the older cars were definitely made of much thicker and stronger metal but sadly they was prone to rusting, although the new cars are thinner they do last longer in that respect. However there is pros and cons of having a car that with thick heavy panel making it very strong, the cons mainly being that it won't crumple as quickly in an impact and so the forces exerted on the passengers in a heavy impact can cause significant injury, whereas most modern cars crumple very easily thus reducing the force exerted on the occupants causing less injury. Modern cars are very complex now and use many different types of metals and welding processes and lots of adhesives holding them together. The older cars were much easier and simpler to work on! 👍

Sounds great, if you are serious about getting into PDR I would definitely suggest getting some proper training from a good PDR technician. Regarding the dents by the side mirror, sometimes these areas of the door are very hard to get behind so we sometimes have to glue pull these areas of the door from the outside using either hot glue or cold glue. I wish you lots of luck! 👍

Can you get a crease dent out of the rear arch above the driver side back wheel?
@1st_track_dents18 күн бұрын
The rear arch on most vehicles are double skinned, so can be very difficult to get access. It just depends where the dent is on the panel, if it can't be accessed from behind it may be glue pulled from the outside providing the paint is factory original and the the paint isn't chipped/damaged. I would email photos/video to your local PDR company and see if they can help 👍
