I don't think you can make a fair comparison if you had the Graduate student experience. I have only seen these videos attempted with HBCU University for undergrad and PWI for graduate school and they all have the same conclusions.

I find it pretty fucked up how most transfer students don’t receive ANY merit scholarships when coming in. HU picks out the best and brightest with their transfer admissions, and forces them to fend for themselves. My department of electrical engineering and computer science has no trustee scholarships due to tech companies not wanting to invest in ECCS undergraduates. I understand that it’s a systemic issue with HBCUs not getting enough funding overall, buuuut when your alumni is the VICE PRESIDENT and issues such as lack of housing (despite the PLETHORA of apartment complexes being made) or funding FOR the low-income students coming in is still an issue, there’s something wrong…

Yes! I have to admit that I didn’t watch this show for 4 years because I got triggered by the title and I believed all of the stuff people said about how it was just a bunch of simple minded race baiting. Now I feel like an idiot. It’s, like you said, a “clickbait title.” And I really enjoyed the show. Anyone who thinks it’s about bashing white people obviously didn’t watch it. They literally address all of this within the show itself! You got it 100% right

I’m a white New Zealander and I love the show reminds me of being a uni student again in radical left circles. The dialogue is brilliant. It’s changed my perspective somewhat on the struggles of minorities both here in NZ/Aoteroa and the US. PS what’s with black women and the long white fingernail extensions?

  • @jdroo

It's called "Dear white people" because "blacks" (as the show portrays them) try to blame everything on the "whites" (as the show portrays them), when in fact most their problems are internal, or there is no problem, it's only assumed. I'm not saying racism does not exist, it does, but it's hardly the majority, and it's hardly as big as everyone says it is. I'd legit punch a real Nazi or KKK loser... Who wouldn't, TBH, the majority of "white people" and many other races are gladly on that same boat of wanting to destroy racism.

I like the series, as someone who is a mixed Latinx person but is white passing- our Latine community is huge, diverse yet certain issues like colorism are rampant. As someone who didn't grew up among non-Hispanics ( regardless of race) I like this series and I have been watching different reviews to understand and learn more about White and Black USA culturally people as it's a little different from the Afro-Latin and Blancos in Latin America. Overall, I like your commentary and I subscribed!!

The white man is gonna look out for his pple just like we should look out for ours,Sure we have some slackers but thats not all of the students and not all of HBCU schools,The white man will hire u as manager and 5 yrs later hire his pple as a manager bcos the other whites don't want to work under u and they're not worried about his experience. The white man has been doing this for 500 yrs.
