See, the Chapters at the time of the Horus Heresy were considerably larger than the 1000-man strong they would later be capped at. For example, the White Scars were subdivided into four Chapters: the Destroyers, the Marauders, the Rampagers, and the Storm Lords. the skeletons in the chair represent the half dead emperor sittting in his throne that keeps his body alive and the orb is actually liike a portal to the chaos realm and they got dragged into the portal not by the orb but buy the octopus like demon and we dont hear the space marines talk because the communicate in their helmet so that they dont give away their plan or position. the space marines were their to capture the orb to be used to travel over vast distances in space. Astartes is the original scientist who created the space marines and their battalion is named after the scientist. the inquisitor is like a right hand man to the emperor think spanish inquisition and the inquisitor was the highest ranking person in that room but because he was being possessed they had to kill him quick and destroy the body if their is anything left the demon can use the body to take form.

i'm 2 months late, but no, the Emperor is very debatably a very bad man. Horus speaks a lot of truth, his father did steal power from the gods to create his sons with no intention of repaying his debt, and just forcing his sons to deal with it after never telling them about it. there's a lot he failed to tell his sons that would have changed the course of everything. "daddy isssues" is a meme for this trailer, but even though he's been brought over to Chaos, Horus has a lot of legitimate reasons to hate his father and be furious towards. The emperor being killed off very well could be the only thing that could have saved humanity, but after the events of the Heresy, him dying won't necessarily be a good thing any more

Abaddon the Despoiler, real name Ezekyle Abaddon, wasn't Horus' advisor (officially, he was part of the Mournival, a 4 man unofficail advisory council) he was the 1st Captain (highest rank in the Legion), Captain of the 1st Company and commander of Justaerin Terminators. The guy featured prominently in the first 3-4 Horus Heresy books.

The part about the Night Lords v Death Guard is not too far fetched, even though they are both traitors. There are several occasions where, especially between Emperor's Children, Thousand Sons, World Eaters and Death Guard, a simple disagreement over who's to benefit from a claim, would turn into skirmishes or outright war. It might not last long, because there's typically a sorcerer or warlord or champion, who steps in and tells the fighting factions otherwise, but because they serve different ideals of chaos, they can be at odds with one another. Obviously not if an Imperial Guard or Loyalist Space Marine legion appeared, but you get the point. The Chaos Undivided legions, so Iron Warriors, Night Lords, Word Bearers, the Black Legion, and the Alpha Legion (maybe), are perhaps less inclined to disagree with the "direct" chaos legions or each other, but if they get different orders from their superiors, these orders can conflict.

Leading to him being 2 people. Both sharing half a soul. 1 half being alpharius and the other half is omegon

Yeah so with the Legions that remained loyal, after the Horus Heresy when they limited the number each legion could have, the legions split up with one segment maintaining the original legion name, and other chapters claiming heritage to the founding chapter while adopting new names and paint schemes. Not every chapter is completely Codex compliant, like the Black Templars, when the Imperial Fists got split up one of the chapters was the Black Templars and they took the insinuation that not being super enthusiastic about the Codex rules meant they were less loyal very personally, and have been on an active crusade ever since for ten thousand years, setting up chapter recruitment bases on each would they conquer. Actual game wise having so many chapters means Space Marine players can create their own chapters and fit them in lore wise. My headcannon with the lost legions is that they were traitor, but the Imperium destroyed them and therefore the records were expunged. The Imperium would want to destroy the records of the other traitor legions but since they still exist and actively are a threat the knowledge of their existence and the whipping of religious fervour that comes with pointing to them as the traitors to kill is beneficial, once they're destroyed then knowledge of them and what they did has no benefit and only exists as a threat to the Imperium inspiring others who may turn to Chaos.

What he means when he said The world eaters were once better than that is that they were originally called the war hounds and were generally a fairly ordinary chapter a little bit violent even for space marines on occasions but not entirely out of the ordinary either, Angron was the worst thing to happen to the legion what the emperor was doing letting Angron live let alone command an entire legion was one of the emperor's dumbest decisions Angron was clearly a broken man when the emperor found him, he's one of the primarch's who probably would have turned traitor regardless if horus had or not, on a side note makes you wonder what the 2nd and 11th did to be destroyed and all records deleted but angron to be fine

I mean the guys are right caliban already being destroyed was pretty common knowledge before the writing of the horus heresy books, every single space marine chapter list in every space marine codex since like 2nd edition has had caliban listed as destroyed and the dark angels codex has pretty much always had the lore on it and they got their first codex in 2nd Edition, the main major plot points of the horus heresy existed before the books scattered across rule books and codex books the heresy books just bring it all together and fill in the details
