Haze blue has Py43 it says on their website not py49 it is raw umber
if it said py49 on your tube i have no clue if it is a print error or a change of formula they have done now to py43
@@NordicFoxArt interesting...I might need to look that up. 🤔
These are all brilliant ☺☺
Thank you! I'm glad I painted them - they look much more interesting than the boring old bamboo. 😆
Love the parrot!
Thank you! 😄
I watched the parrot coloring picture it is amazing painting xxx I am thinking of getting the 48 set Sennelier Watercolours . i have 2 nasty cheap paint sets Artway and Winsor newton Cotman . I cant paint at all. but want a decent set . Thank you for sharing happy swatching xxxxx
The Sennelier 48 set is a really great one - I know a few people who have it and the colour selection is good. The quality of the paints is light years ahead of Cotman as well! ❤
Thank you so much for sharing the gorgeous photo, the colours are really stunning. Your painting came out great, this one is my favourite 😍
Thank you so much! 😊 Scarlet macaws are so beautiful with their rainbow colours. I was so happy to have a chance to photograph this one at a bird sanctuary, making it a lot easier to get some quality photos.
Love your phone holders! I think my favorite is the parrot but it was hard to pick. Thank you for sharing your beautiful photo, I’m thinking of trying it in colored pencils. Did you take the photo at a zoo?
Thank you! I took it at a bird sanctuary, so yes pretty much a zoo. The macaw was out on a tree branch they'd set up, with no fencing so it was possible to get some lovely close ups of it (shooting on a long lens so I wasn't TOO close to that huge beak, lol). 😄❤
I love them all, but the parrot is my favourite - the colours are stunning. Thanks for sharing your process with us and thank you for allowing us all access to your fabulous photo - it's very kind of you and much appreciated. Can't wait to see what you do next... 🙂
Thank you! Maybe I should paint more parrots, haha! 😆
Love all the phone holders you painted! The parrot came out really nice. Where did you take the photo? I got some photos of Macaws in Ecuador (Amazon rainforest). Such beautiful birds.
Thank you! I actually took the photo in NZ, at a bird sanctuary called Parrot Place, up north near Paihia. Well worth visiting if you go up that way. 🤗
@@BeckyTregear Cool! I will definitely put it on my list of places to visit!
So fun! They all came out great, but I think I like the patchwork quilt the best. 😊
Thank you! It's my favourite too.
I love the painting so so much!!!! I would love to try the open golden acrylics. They are on my wish list for someday!
Thank you! They are lovely paints, but are getting very expensive so I will probably stick with the colours I have and not buy more tubes. Unless I run out of a colour of course. 😵💫
Lady Becky, the parrot is gorgeous! I would say, as it has been in your files for so long time and a dear picture for you, maybe you would want to make it a painting on canvas too? The leaves just praise the parrot on the front, I don't think they need to be so focused at all, to keep the attention on the parrot. Just wow, great work ! As a phoneholder I think I would chose the roses though, such a classic topic
I’ve done two paintings of it in canvas, but I think this phone holder painting is the best of them, lol. 😂 And thank you!
I like all of them and probably would have picked the patchwork one until you painted the parrot. Animals always win for me and the parrot is gorgeous.
Thank you, and yes I love animals too. Birds are always fun to paint and draw. 😊
The parrot is amazing 🎉❤. But the again they are all cool. Great job 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much! 😄
Stunning 😍. Maybe my favourite painting that you have done. Have fun till next time
Thank you so much! It worked out better than my previous painting attempts with this macaw, which I did quite a few years ago now, lol.
I would pick the patchwork one too. That's more my style.
I like it too - it makes me want to paint a really large patchwork because they're so fun to do!
They all look great Becky. Well done ❤
Thank you 😊
They’re all stunning but I like the parrot most
Thank you! I am glad I used the Golden acrylics to achieve the bright colours of the macaw.
Enjoy
Looks great!! Vibrant colour! (Also, I was pronouncing your surname wrong oops!)
Thank you, and you aren't the first - my surname is mispronounced often, haha! 😂
Uuuhhh ❤ That came out really, really, really, really, really, really, reeeeeeally good! Did I mention it came out REALLY good? 😂 OMG, I FREAKING LOVE IT!!! ❤❤❤❤😊😅😅
Thank you so much! I'm really happy with how it turned out, and all three holders were fun to paint. 😆
Beautiful (scarlet ?) Macaw. My cockatiel also approves. He watched right along with me. Tfs.
Thank you! Yes, it's a Scarlet Macaw. I forgot to say scarlet, lol. Awww I love cockatiels, they're such cute birds!
Fun project, great results Becky! The patchwork phone holder is my favourite. Golden Open Acrylics are mad expensive and I have heaps of regular acrylics already. Found an acrylic medium by Derivan Matisse called 'Open' which is meant to be a super slow drying additive......have you ever tried this? Cost $19AU and does slow dry my regular acrylics paints quite a bit but I can't compare the results to the Golden Opens because I don't have any....is this something you might be able to do as a future comparison video? Ta!
Thank you! I'll have a look around for the open medium - I have some sort of slow dry medium for acrylics but I didn't have much luck mixing correct proportions for an even dry. I'll have to see if I can make it work properly. Golden paints cost a fortune, that's for sure! The price has hiked up significantly in the past few years. 😭
That photo is stunning! And the phone holder artwork is too 😃 I think I like the patchwork one best too, though it's such a tough decision. I just like them all 😄 Also, isn't it just annoying that those phone holders are never made for phones with a case? Anyways... great job on the parrot painting. It's beautiful!
Thank you! Does anyone not have their phone in a case? Who are these people?😂
@@BeckyTregear funny enough, I see so many people (especially the young ones) without phone cases and I really don't get that either.. the case is such a good protection (if you get a good one that is).. I swear I must be getting old 😂
I love the parrott the most just for the colours (although it wasn't what i voted for = too detailed for such a small space in my opinion), and the patchwork is my second best. Cheers from Italy and swatch you later. Dan 🧡
Thank you! I was thinking the same, that it was going to be very hard to paint because of the detail, but I'm happy with the finished painting and it was easier than I expected - I just had to find all my mini brushes for it, haha! 😂
Stunning parrot artwork but my fave is still the patch work one, them paints even though they are professional they seem very streaky, I think I'd get super frustrated with them, I don't like going back over with acrylics if I can help it lol I'm lazy! I use a shop brand basic acrylic and they are really good for little price, but I really want a phone holder now so I can paint one, your a bad influence Becky 🤣🤣
Haha! 😂 The patchwork was one of those simple yet really effective concepts and I like it the best too! Some of the colours I have in the Golden paints are very transparent, which is why they can get a little streaky. I could have opaqued them up with white, but I wanted their pure colour.....so streaks it is I guess, lol.
Lovely parrot.
Thank you 😊
So it turns out Stuart Semple is an absolutely unhinged loser who bullies people who give him fair criticism. Do not support him.
Hi Becky. Officeworks have Art Spectrum gouache on clearance sale at the moment. 😊
Nice! 👍
Ah, fun! The 26 minutes of this video just flew by. Love your creations.
Haha it was a bit long, this video! It always takes me forever to film resin projects. But I'm glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
3:07 I have those travel brushes! They’re just as good as my Princeton ones

Hi Becky - it looks like a lot of fun now that you know how it works. How did you 'clean out" the pouring cups??? Or is it one cup per pour??? I would like to see you make more... Jackie
The best way to clean out the silicone pouring cups is to let any leftover resin fully cure and set, then it can be peeled off quite easily. For standard plastic cups, I find that they're one use only and then they just have to be chucked out because that resin ain't coming off for anyone! 🤣 Trying to wipe off wet resin is also a bad idea; it's just too sticky!
I needed this in my day, thank you! I am on a self-healing journey, and wanted a kintsugi style project to embody some of my feels, but I am not a master at gluing things back together, so my plate already has some very small gaps and a few edges that are really bothering me. i was looking up how to now grout my plate, more like a mosaic, but nothing was really meshing with my goals of also painting the cracks when it is done. Your experiment and determination fits so well with my project as I am scavenging to pull this off without ordering an official kit. The love and desire to fix what was broken has shined through in your project and I am adopting a few of your ideas to solve my “grout problem”. I am a new subscriber as of today. Thank you so much for not being perfect because this was perfect for me ❤️🔥
Oooh this is an old video now, haha! To this day my pot has stayed together and is still in my art studio. I can't even remember what I used to stick it together, but the best mix I've come up with for "grouting" these sorts of things is a combination of gel medium and modelling paste, tubs of which can be purchased in art (and probably craft) shops. The modelling paste on its own is also usually ok, but for some reason the gel medium makes it a little smoother and once they set, it's like concrete. I mix a blob of each together using a plastic or metal palette knife, and apply it straight on - it will work as both glue and filler for missing bits if you smooth it down as much as possible. Then once it's fully dry after a day or so, add gold paint over the top. Thank you for your lovely comment, I'm glad my video was of use all this time later. ❤
I ran to the store and did not find the liquid pearl... but I did find liquid sculpy, so I am trying that on the back of my plate, it is baking now. No matter what, thinking outside the box and may try your newer idea if this fails ❤
Okay, for anyone reading this, do not use the liquid sculpey, I followed the instructions, then two of my previously attached sections (which survived the dishwasher as my first test) actually came unglued in the oven AND I was just able to pull all the baked sculpey off with very little effort. I will call that a fail… on to my next plan! Thank you again for the great ideas on how to make this work 😎
@@adorabledeplorble8497 Oh nooo! 😱 I'm glad you were able to pull the Sculpey back off again. I imagine Super Glue may work, taking care not to get it on your skin.
@@BeckyTregear I am so excited, thank you again! I was able to fix my plate and use some Titebond quick and thick to cover and fill my seams, then paint with gold metallic Testor’s (which is a lovely real gold color) and it is finally done!!! This, in the true spirit of fixing what was broken and not being perfect, was an amazing journey of determination and love 🥰 I appreciate your input as well as your kindness. I hope your Pot of Fixed Dreams carries into many happy years to come.
Thanks Becky. I've only tried resin once when I was a kid (well technically my Dad tried it) as I got a kit for my birthday one year. We only tried it once and the very top layer of pendant didn't set well. It ended up with fingerprints all over it where we kept testing it to see if we could unmold it yet or not. Took weeks to finally cure fully. The rest of that kit solidified in the bottle and my parents bought me beads i could enjoy instead! 😂🤣
It is definitely one of those things that people make look easy but it's actually really difficult and finicky. If that ratio isn't exactly right, it ain't setting! 😂
Really nice creations! I like everything, but I love how the dragons and the egg came out. Gorgeous colors! Looking forward to seeing the chessboard and pieces.👍
Thank you! Hopefully I learn from my mistake with that first chess piece, haha!
The heat gun wouldn't be for the U.K. also - we have high 240 voltage like Australia.
Definitely get a local heat gun - I wouldn't trust the lower voltage ones with that much power. The smoke that came out of mine was quite scary.
Ummm, the UK is 230V and has been for the last 30 years!
1 fluid ounce for me was $50 not including I think $7 postage. That's in the United States.
It's a crazy price! 🙀
My experience is with it I don't believe it's actually an acrylic it seems more like tempura
It feels like liquid plastic to me! It's very weird.
Nice job Becky, you have done well! I use to do resin myself, mostly coasters that i gave away as gifts, and small shells and crystals that i would include in polymer clay sculptures. I stopped making resin, cause is very expensive and soooo messy! But your video makes me want to make some more! Cant wait to see the chess game!
Thank you! I'm very glad to have been given an opportunity to try out some of their products, because yes resin gets very expensive! I have yet to make a good coaster, lol. I'll try to get this chess set done soon - I'm really hoping it turns out ok!
Ooh i better check my resins. I got some for Christmas the last two years and haven’t tried them yet.
oh nooo! i also have left overs, it now yellow, but if i add opaque colors to it, it should do, but I wonder if it still hardens?
Ah yes, I think it tends to go yellow over time with bottles that have already been opened? Sealed ones probably will last much longer. I guess the only thing to do is to mix in some colours, and hope it sets! I think it would still set, but honestly my knowledge of resin in general is still quite limited. Fingers crossed for success!
This is a very captivating video. I am not at all interested in resins, but I still found myself engrossed in this video. I loved watching your epoxy resin shenanigans.
Thank you! I find resin fascinating but also incredibly frustrating, haha! It's something I want to be better at, which is why I make occasional videos on the subject, lol. And totally fine if it's not your cup of tea. I appreciate you watching this one 😊
@@BeckyTregear Thank you for making it 🙂
Definitely the egg but the diamond turned out really well too, at least on video
Thank you! 😊
Thank you for the swatches. I just bought this set, but it's sat unopened for a few days, with me undecided as to whether to keep it or not. I peeked in your more recent video and see that you have seen that by now, the pigment info is available. I bought it before I checked, and as you know the reds, pinks and purples are not good lightfastness. The blues and greens are ok. Yellows are mixed, one of them is PY1! Terrible!
I think the pigment info came out within the last year or so? I know I checked around the time of making this video and there wasn't anything. Oh well, such is life! I still happily paint with them, and they're good for sketchbooks and artworks that aren't going to be exposed to lots of light. I really want to set up a home lightfast test though to see if they do actually fade at all. It's on my list of many things to do that I haven't done yet! 😂
@@BeckyTregear LOL me too, always meaning to do lightfast tests but never have! Although I think where you are, you should have much more relevant results. You get much better sun. I have checked some others' tests on YT, some people have definitely experienced fading.
Happy birthday, nice review thank you !
Love your egg. Great video.
Great job very pretty
Wow, that egg wins for me. I do love your dragons too though
Thank you, and I love the egg too! 😊
Definitely the egg, but the baby dragons are sooo cute! Well done, Becky, thank you for sharing with us your adventurous journey into resin. ❤😊
Thank you! I'm glad to have made some successful resin projects for once, haha! 😆
Love, love, love Well done Becky. Just in case you don’t know I love them all, great video.
Thank you! I'm just happy I have finally had some success with resin art, lol! 😂
Oh! I love your resin shenanigans! In my watch later list, but definitely looking forward to this!👍😊
