All I can say is the older gen of action stars, cared about the entertainment they gave us. The newer batch could care less, and it shows. Conan is still a yearly watch for me, nothing else can really get you into a state of mind where nothing can hurt you. Stallone had some greats; I really like his early career. But even he has never graced us with anything as visceral as Conan. The second Conan isn't worth mentioning and I really wish we could have received the Conan sequel that Arnold and we deserve.

I loved the movie "The Outlaw" as a kid. Arnold didn't need to do anything besides be Bugs Bunny to Kirk Douglas's Wyle E Coyote. I'm going to watch that again. I'll get my son to watch it with me. I turned him on to "Caveman" a few years ago.

Escogió muy bien la mayoría de sus pelicular hasta los 90s, Terminator, total recall, etc etc, a diferencia de Stallone y Van Dame.

I liked Arnold, back in the 70's, when he was primarily a body builder. As the decades passed, I began to see what an utter asshole he is!

Whatever one may think of Hollywood privilege, these two gave everything. Physical pain is the ultimate equalizer. It makes us all the same. Cervical surgeries such as Sly has had is not a joke. It's the last resort and there is no going back. Arnold as well. They are the Evil Knievels of the action era.

i have to go with sly on this one about the up bringing, you know i get what arnold says to but ratio wise its not the results that are typical, the people who build greatness out of a shit child hood are an exception to the rule, thats not to say it doesnt create toughness but toughness does not translate to greatness though it can help. But even Terr Cruz talks about how he would stare out the window saying to himself 'im going to escape this life' but how many of his siblings said the same thing/ you might have a family of 12 kids in a terrible childhood, and if they are lucky you might get 1 Arnold or Sly, but the rest will become drug addicts, street thugs, criminals because they donty have the capacity to dream of what might be out there because their world view is limited to the street corbor because thats their world and the height of that world is to be the pimp or the dealer, or the king pin that dressed nice, has the nice car, has the people bowing down to them. They dont think thats there is a world out there beyond that street and the few dreamers that are there dont get to escape because that life takes them too, and their escape is drugs and alcohol.

I can confirm that Stallone does care about looks. My dad met him at Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills, where they were both shopping for clothes. My dad got a gift certificate worth only $50 dollars so all could afford was just a single shirt. They both ended up in the checkout lanes together. Sly commented to my dad, " why are you buying only one shirt?" My dad being a simple working man, a machinist for McDonnell Douglas, it was all he could afford. Mr. Stallone's assistant was called and he helped my dad get two more shirts and also got measured for two suits, trousers, and a cashmere dinner jacket. He paid for it all and was very kind to my dad. My dad is 84 years old and he still has those clothes and he always goes to see every single Sylvester Stallone movie whenever he can. Great video BTW.

That's a wonderful story about your dad meeting Stallone at the store. Long before I was born, My dad was a professional contractor in the 80s and he actually worked on the construction crew that built Stallones house. The reason he knows it was his house is because he showed up at the house during construction and my dad was able to meet him by him saying hello to the crew he was on.

Excellent interview. It's a shame about the distortion but still worth listening to even so. Arnold talking about wanting a woman who is smarter than he is felt very real. Also a shame he ended up cheating on his wife with his housekeeper, and keeping the housekeeper there in Maria's own home. The enemy within. If only he'd had as much of a dedication to being a partner of integrity as he did to being a star (e.g., his clear vision in rejecting the tire commercial because it didn't fit with his overarching goals).

But Arnold & Sly are different. Arnold is a multiple time winner of bodybuilding championship and Austrian. Sly is Italian and just works out to have had his physique. Arnold movies are 99% action, Sly movies are mixed. I understand the comparison. I get it. But they're very different. That's like comparing Elvis & Michael. Similar but very different.
