    If you are to push the car sideways, turn all the dollies wheels in that direction. Moving forward or backwards, put the dollies wheels facing front or rear. Without doing this, the car is impossible to move by yourself. These plastic wheels are crap.

    I've tested my friend's and its a piece of crap. I'm much happier with my Harbor Freight Motorcycle Dolly. It has little ramps, when placed in down position, keeps the dolly from moving and also helps with ease of riding up on it. I also added an extra kickstand plate. checkout my Modification my channel.

    The small roller caster is in order to keep gravity the lowest possible? Amazing how much weight can take a well desing dolley even with a simple structure

    While it is a nice rotisserie it is a little lite duty for most vehicles. At 3k lbs you are talking about a far lighter weight than what you would normally encounter. Beef up the center shaft and the accompanying bearing and you could have a really nice system for the home restorer.

    Does this have to be up against a wall? Does it slip out from under the bike if its not? Please advise. Thanks.

  • @MerrickMachineCo
    @MerrickMachineCo9 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for checking out the video! The Cycle Dolly will not slip out from under the bike once the bike is mounted in the V-Groove channel and the kickstand is in place on the kickstand plate. Once the bike is mounted you can move the bike around into whatever position works best for you. We suggest when you mount and dismount your bike that you have the nose of the dolly up against a wall or other solid object so it is easier to walk on or off. If you have anymore questions please feel free to give us a call at 1-800-568-7423 Ext. 188. Thanks again!

    What makes your ~ $350 cycle dolly better than the ~$79 Harbor Freight dolly??? I can buy 4-1/2 of the HF for each one of yours and no shipping... seems to me that the HF dolly has more to offer than yours. Am I wrong???? If so how?

  • @MerrickMachineCo

    Thanks for your question! We don't speak badly of our "competition", so you will have to do your own research with regard the "CONS" mentioned by owners of other products. Regarding our product, you may notice that our Cycle Dolly has ten (10) casters. We had to hunt far and wide to get the right kind of casters also. I won't go into detail here, for the benefit of the competition, but the material that the caster's wheel is made of makes a difference. The kickstand part is made with the ability to adjust it's placement right where you want/need it. Perhaps most importantly, our "V" groove shape means that the motorcycles wheels are only 3/4" off of the ground. In addition, the Cycle Dolly features a powder coated finish, not simply painted. This is a benefit you may not appreciate when you compare products right out of the box, but will definitely appreciate in the years to come. Finally, the Cycle Dolly by Merrick Machine Company was designed and built right here in the U.S. Thanks again for your question!

    I'm a bit confused on how you think it might "fall". The Auto Rotisserie with E-Z Spin has safety pins on each of the elevation shafts (both sides) and both sides of the rotational shaft have a spring loaded safety pin that can automatically engage the next hole in the rotation. This spring loaded pin can be disengaged from one side and still be held by the other side for one man operation. We do recommend two man operation whenever possible.

  • @MerrickMachineCo
    @MerrickMachineCo12 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for watching and commenting! The Merrick Machine Co. Auto Rotisserie with E-Z Spin was designed by a professional engineer with decades of experience. Its capacity is officially rated at 3000 lbs but have run tests (don't try this at home) with fully loaded vehicles of even higher weights. Normally you are putting a vehicle on the rotisserie that has the engine, interior, (etc) removed making the 3000 lb capacity a generous figure for most projects.

    I still think it's not robust enough.....In addition, while it's fine that the pin locks by itself in case it turns on its own, how about a safety pin to prevent it from falling?
