The Arend Boys is a channel on waterfowl hunting with two brothers that have over 40 years of Waterfowl hunting experience. One Brother lives in Alaska and the other in Michigan. Every waterfowl season we get together in Michigan for a few weeks to hunt the spot we hunted as kids. We are both now in our 50's and look forward to and enjoy every hunt whether it’s packed with action or just getting skunked.
This channel will mostly have videos of our duck hunts during the waterfowl season. Occasionally videos from my hunts or fishing trips in Alaska will be uploaded.

That’s not a gadwall
Yep. Corrected in comments. Thanks for watch
Great hunt! Great dog work! Great last day!
Thanks, I've got one more hunt and it was a slow one.
I like your style of duck hunting!
Why u don't attempt to get ur Cripps?
@@garybloom3304 We always attempt to find our Cripples. Just because it's not on the video doesn't mean we don't try to find them.

Like your videos, the setting, where you're hunting, the dog work, and of course, the hunting.
Thanks and as always, appreciate the support.
Are you still using your rock island shotgun? If so how is it running? Keep up the good work!
Yep, used it every hunt for the 2023 Season. I had some issues with it at the beginning as for as ejecting and recycling shells. Turned out that the gas ports were dirty. Gave it a good cleaning and was fine afterwards.
@@ArendBoys I’m considering getting it. Psa is currently offering it for $270
Oh man that a great price and if you don’t like it you’re only out a few hundred.
Did it come with the extended choke tube or u jad to buy separate
It comes with the three chokes that extended about 1.5" pass the barrel. Hope that answers your question.
@@ArendBoys thanks mine didn't so trying to get them to send them

Good hunt!
Good hunt!! You should record a catch clean and cook 👍
Thank you and I believe I’ll have a video out at the end of the season similar to that.
Beautiful setting and great dog work!
Thank you I appreciate it and thanks for watching.
You've got a good thing going. Keep it up. Hopefully you'll get more subscribers.
Thanks. I appreciate the support.
Excellent work love the color. Probably a stupid question but what is the wood species
This is Ash Wood.

Thanks for watching and the support.
That Rock Island is putting in some work 💪 I just bought mine and I still haven’t shot it but, I can’t wait. Awesome hunt 🦆🦆🦆
Yes it is. I was having issues with it during the first few hunts of it not ejecting or chambering shells. I gave it a good cleanings plus cleaned out the gas ports. Good to go after that. Thanks for watching.

Appreciate it. Thanks for watching.
I'm cracking up watching your dogs as it reminds me of our late English Lab Kimber. She was a love bug, sleepy head, around the house, yet LOVED hunting. I once met a guy that said you can't have both a pet and a hunting dog as your dog needs to be on command at all times. Well, my good girl Kimber may not have been a machine in the field, but when I said "Kimber"! Find the bird! It was like I turned a light switch on and she was now in full hunting mode. I feel Labs are great for this reason. They make wonderful family members and are your teammate in the field. Have fun trying to sleep in that bed as I'm not sure they will want to give it up. Best of luck to you and your family, and your dogs.
I totally agree with you. They are part of the family and spoiled. They lay around all day and sleep but once they hear the shooting when out hunting they are ready to go. Thanks for watching.
I love it. That goose retrieve was nice. He's probably like "damn, this is one big duck". I feel Labs are part fish. I miss my good girl Kimber who was a black English Lab. She was more of an upland dog for me, but one day on a hunt with my buddy, Kimber locked on a pheasant and flushed it for my friend and I. He took and shot and winged it even though the shot was a fatal one. But it flew pretty far out over this lake and wound up there. My buddy says to me, "Darn, that sucks. How are we going to get it". I looked at him, then looked down at Kimber and said, "Uhh, well, let me see. I have a hunting dog and she loves the water and retrieving birds. Soooo uh, I am pretty sure she will keep our feet dry and go get it for us". Sure enough, I looked at Kimber as she looked back at me in excitement with that look on her face, and said, "get the bird baby" and off she went charging into the water. After quite a long swim out and back she got to the shore and got kind of stuck in some thick mud at the bank. Then she dropped the bird and basically said to me, "Okay daddy, since I did all the heavy work, you can at least pick it up and put it in your vest cuz I am done". I have to admit that moment was pretty funny. She passed away about a year and a half ago and I still miss her just as much today as I did that very day. Enjoy every moment with your boy Lake for as many years as you can, because not only are they great partners in the field with us, but they are our family members as well.
Sorry to hear about Kimber. That’s a great story and a proud moment. It’s too bad that they are only with us for a short period of our time.
How many decoys you hunting over? Enjoying the videos!
Thanks for watching and about 11 Dozen.
Excelente video, quería saber si la escopeta que está utilizando es la RIA, belleza de escopeta 👍
Yes it is. Thanks for watching.
Do you know if this is compatible with tube extensions for snow geese season?
Sorry I do not.
Hello excellent video i have hunting videos on youtube
Cool.
First bird is a wigeon
Correct. I realized afterwards.
Cool.
Ie was using that weighted paranoid line they use for decoys. The line would sink and get caught up on the stubble under the water. I switched the line for 10lb fishing line and perfect.... worked out well
I went to a fishing line as well. I used the decoys for the first time this 2023 season and was very disappointed.
@@ArendBoys really....I have the hair lucky duck swimmer... we had birds dropping in quit often
@@glenkartchner8654 I'm thinking of getting the Lucky Duck Swimmer and given that a try this coming season.
What choke did you use and what kind of ammo?
I use the modified choke for ducks and mostly Remington ammo. I’ve used Rio Royal and had issues with the shells not fully ejecting.
@@ArendBoys steel or bismuth?

Hello good videos i have hunting videos on youtube
How much
They're about $120 each or you can get a package deal. I will tell you that after using them during the 2023 season, I was very disappointed. I would not recommend these.
@@ArendBoyswhat went wrong with them?
@@paulw4924 The movement is to slow, no wake behind them. No remote, costly with just D batteries. I had a prop fall off during a hunt. I'll be trying out the Lucky Duck Swimmer.
The,how’s everything going?! so amazing ~ take it easy, ;)
We've had a few great mornings. I won't be getting videos out till I get home. No internet here.
Good luck and be safe!!
Thanks. We had some awesome hunts so far. Videos will won't be out till I get home due to the lack of no internet.
Good very nice one piece price
What is the number of cartridges used?
I'm not sure I quite understand what you're asking.
Hello perfect videos i have hunting videos on youtube
I've had Bald Eagles steal ducks right in front of my Drahthaar!!! He hates eagles ha!ha Once we was out on the Kenai , an eagle came swooping in and stole a duck right in front of him !! Apache started growling and throwing a awful fit ...... later at the boat ramp, other duck hunters was coming up and asking what was going on at our spot ha!ha
That's crazy. My last hunt in the same area had another Eagle or maybe the same one took a Merganser.
If you can't call get a 7-1 and do the drake dreeeeeb, just going to chase birds away with the kazoo.
$200 at Rual King I’m going to grab one tomorrow
Oh man, $200!! You won't be disappointed.
Nice looking shotty! How has it performed?
I had to switch out the piston on it. It comes set with the light load piston and I was having a few issues. Once I switch it to the heavy load piston it's been flawless. Killing ducks.
@@ArendBoys Awesome! That's good to hear! I'm looking into one now. Thank you!
What was the process of switching out the piston? Did you have to order it or did it come with it?
Pistons come with it. They are labeled Heavy and Light Load. Put the piston you wish to use on top. The wide ends of the piston will butt up to each other. The smaller end will face up on the one you are using.
Ha, impressive! Looking like a Trump supporter!!
Nice very nice it will be better next time, I just got exactly like your shotgun brand new I’m looking forward to duck season here in California, can you please tell me what kind of choke you have on yours please and thank you
Thanks, I'm using the modified choke.
Nice.
What was the length of the exhaust side and the tone board side?
4.25” 2.5 for the tone board and 1.75 for exhaust.
Thanks a lot. Great demonstration@@ArendBoys
Nice hunt….. can’t wait to finish my labs this will be there 1st year hunting
Thanks. The best part of duck hunting is watching all that work in to training them come together. I've got a one year old Chocolate Lab that should shine this coming season.
Look at those ears go!! The pup is going to take flight soon! ❤️
My old dog is named kai
He’s so cute
He's absolutely adorable
Thanks , She sure is.
That's a good looking pupcake!
