Could I commission you to make one for me? Complete with lots of money like that one? You could use the money I send you to build it!🤣

I thought the use of a water-based gum tape was to remove the tape after glue up using steam or moisture. Scraping and sanding is as you say the least exciting part. Beautiful final piece.
Pero que excelencia de trabajo artesanal y expresion creativa. gracias por compartir, suscrito.

I’d say this is a good way to store important things if you don’t have access to a bank safe. Having all your important documents in a bank is safe from robbery and a fire. Unless your keeping fat stacks of cash. The bank robbers will avoid it too. Works out.

You should include a copy of this video along with your estate planning documents/will. Without it your heirs would never find all your stash after you are gone. Extremely clever and creative workmanship!

Hi Silas, I noticed your "The Master Techniques Of Marquetry" is no longer being sold. Is there any chance you might be coming out with a revised version of your DVD in the not-too-far future? As I understand it your DVD goes deeper into the explanation of your techniques than does your book, "A Marquetry Odyssey: Historical Objects and Personal Work." Hope you still respond to questions on this long ago posted KZread video demo. Thank you.

Thank you.. great video.. the sawing method was not what i expected but made total sense. I have had good luck remoisturizing the tape and just peeling it off.. but you are clearly the master. My confidence is bouyed.. though you years of doing it add an enlightened perspective on grain direction .. really beautiful work..
