Did you water-bath the jam jars?
No I didn’t, I sterilized them in the oven before I stated the jelly. I poured the jelly immediately once it was done and closed the lid, so that they were airtight and once you open the jar you have to use it.
A very well-made, informative video. Thanks
Thank you 😊
very nice....beautiful
how often do you water African Blue Basil plant?
Hi Just check the surface of soil in the pot. If it’s dry water the plant. From my experience African Basil love water so it water it every other day when it’s outside on the patio.
I tried this and the cutting just started to wilt. What can I do better?
Hi Khrystyne, did cut the cutting from a fresh stem. If not that’s what you need to do. Also don’t place your cutting directly on a windowsill where it gets direct sunlight. Hope this helps.
Thank you! Very helpful as I think about starting felting with my son. And soothing to watch the process :)

So many beautiful colors in the garden! I could hear the birds chirping, the bees buzzing, and the sound of summer in the air. My favorite part was to see the big bumble bee on that beautiful purple spiky flower! What was that flower called?

I also would like to ask. My basil has the flower stems, so if I cut all the flower stems off, will the basil grow more leaves and flowers after a few weeks?
Hi Chuck Roast, you can pinch the flowers off. I use the flowers in my drinking water. Take about 4 to 5 flowers, wash it and put in the pitcher with couple of slices of lemon or lime, fill the pitcher with water. Leave it in the fridge for couple of hours. It makes a refreshing drink. I leave some flowers for the pollinators, the bees love African Blue Basil. By pinching off large Basil leaves the plant will producing more leaves and flowers and bushy. When you bring it in for winter, it will still keep growing and keep producing Basil and flowers. Just water the plant when the top soil is dry.
I just saw your video and I love it! I bought a small blue basil about 4 months ago, and after it grew bigger, I started propagating small cuttings. I used the same method you did by putting them in water for a week, and it rooted within 6 days. I now have 4 small basil plants starting out. I plan on doing more before it gets too cold here in California. Thank you very much for your information. I also like putting the flowers in water, and it is very refreshing to drink
Chuck Roast Thank You Basil is one of my favorite herb, its September again so I have to bring them in and do some cuttings...... My next video is on Vietnamese Coriander, so look out for it.
