    I stopped racing Touring Car (17.5) in 2017 and using my Fantom meter, the BEST stock 7.2/12.5 rotors were around 1650 to MAYBE 1700. I just bought a "modern" car (of ALL classes in RC, the one that changed the most in the last 7 years, is Touring Car as they pretty much all copy the Awesomatix car by eliminating hinge pins, going to pivot ball outers, SUPER short shocks and mid motor) I just bought a relatively inexpensive Rocket RC Superlight 17.5 and noticed immediately the rotor was EXTREMELY hard to turn once in the car. It states it is ROAR legal so I am assuming that still means a 7.2mm inner diameter. Anyway, on my Fantom it is registering 1800/1810 gauss! It seems to me I am going to have put a bigger pinion and wind up with 3.85-3.95 FDR on my medium sized black carpet track. Pretty incredible!

    Hello, thank you for the excellent content about this motor. I see that Furitek lists the Kraken as 3S capable, but that would put the motor very close to what I assume is the max rpm of around 80k. Do you think the Kraken is 3S capable?

    @@lawton70 thanks for replying, especially so quickly. I’ll probably stick with 2S. One more question, the 5 pin connectors that Furitek uses for their motor sensor cables, could you tell me which series / spacing it is? Or how you made your 5 to 6 pin cable? I think Furitek used to make an adapter cable, but I guess they don’t anymore. Edit: I see that the “industry standard” is a 6 pin JST-XH 2.54mm I think. Is the Furitek a 5 pin of the same series? So just that and some lap splice solder joints with some heat shrink like I see in the video? Maybe some expando or loom later to protect those tiny wires?

  • @lawton70
    @lawton703 ай бұрын

    @@Robert-mb1gb I added links to the sensor cables I purchased and wiring diagram in the description. With that 5 pin cable there is a specific motor side and an esc side. You cannot flip the wire around like you can with the 6 pin standard wire. I learned that the hard way. I purchased some spare 5 pin wires and had a few 6 pin wires here. Then I just cut the wires and spliced them together following the wiring diagram I put in the description. Its a 5 pin hall sensor to 6 pin port. It was an easy splice but the wires are very small so it is tough to skin the wires without cutting strands of wire.
