They need to do a frame by frame 4K restoration on all of those episodes, they have the film negatives. It would look great! Be neat on 4K Blurays.

Eric Morecambe was an astonishing performer. His facial repertoire an encyclopaedia of expression augmented by an extraordinary sense of timing. Pair that with his perfect yet economic physicality and you have an enduring performer who even almost 40 years since his passing, still has the power to reduce a viewer to tearful and joyful hysterics. To me, he is as memorable as Chaplin, Keaton, Laurel & Hardy and the Goons. As I age, there are times when as a recent wearer of spectacles, I find myself mimicking Eric's various poses with his specs and laugh to myself- much to the bemusement of others, who think I'm a loony. I show them a quick you tube clip and they get it and to my delight, I see them repeat the pose almost by instinct. How good a legacy is that...
