Archean is an immersive Engineering Sandbox and Space Sim.
Your journey begins on Earth... 3 billion years in the past, in the Archean eon.
This is a challenging sandbox that can be played solo or with friends.
It also happens to be a full scale Space Sim.

Is there a way to make this game borderless fullscreen. Because while playing not being able to alt tab has been a nightmare lol.
This looks more like a tech demo than a game. Like a proof-of-concept you start with before building a game on top of it.
even though i wouldnt be able to play the game currently if i bought it i had the idea to turn on the lamp with a condition of a solar array not producing power as to make an automated night light
the nvidia requirement is why i cant play it if i bought it
Do you have plans for various rocket engine types?
Can you make a vid on routers and how I can use them in ailrons
OMG, that whining high pitch, ouch.
You should probably look into sound profiles. Especially LUFS. See the Tom Scott video for an explanation.
I recently bought Archean and I am enjoying it so far. These tutorial videos are a big help but I have to crank up the volume almost to full because I can barely hear you. Maybe you could increase the gain on your mic for future tutorials? I think it would help.
I'm curious, is it going to be a game? Or another space engineers with empty world and cool constructions that have no real game-life purpose. Like whats the point of building tank if there is nobody to shoot at, or enemy to conquer, or friend to trade with.
Do an explanation of an electrolyzer setup please.
connect water input to FluidPort, then outputs to fluid tanks. Power it with HV battery, connect a ToggleButton to turn it on.
@@Archean-space The problem is using a tank as a buffer. I can get fluid from a source to both the tank and a consumer at the same time, but if the source shuts off I have to re-pipe to get it from the tank. Any other configuration makes fluid go to either the tank or the consumer but not both. In my setup I have a port to a pump, to a junction(far right side), which splits to a tank(single connector side) and an electrolyzer(left most port). If I turn off just the pump, the electrolyzer can't pull from the tank, unless I disconnect the pump and connect the tank to where the pump was. If I disconnect the filled tank and connect it to one of the other 2 open ports on the junction, it can use the fluid in the tank, but can't fill it from the pump.
@@mrnobody2873 You can use a tank as a buffer, maybe that's what you need. Connect a fluid junction to the tank from it's single port side. Then, with the other 4 ports, you can pump anything in and out as much you want. The electrolyser will pump it in/out by itself.
People hold alt because other games have trained their muscle memory to use it that way. This leaves you with a quandry. Have an interface that might be the best fit for your game OR have one that is a best fit for the players you attract coming from established games, OR allow players to configure that behavior in the options.
im curious why choose to split power in that way and have directionality on the junctions. was it for coding purpose? game design choice? any chance to get a power junction with out directionality?
Is there any plans to make the terrain destructable in the future, holes, caves, etc. ?
Interesting tutorial, but why would battery voltage go down during use? Batteries are typically constant voltage sources , I could see the stored energy / joules going down but not Voltage until the stored energy was significantly dropped and its internal impedance maxing out .. Anyway good tutorials all..
Most if not all battery types go down in voltage as they discharge.
Already playing, really looking forward to see where this game goes
That glass is amazing looking
I know you said your aerodynamics model simulates gyroscopic precession but does it also simulate P factor in propellers as well?
I love the aerodynamics model system of this game, I'm on an amd gpu so im installing a linux partition just to play the game
I just bought the game, and it is quite promising :) Is there a way to actually put the batteries stat on a monitor or smthing, im rly bad at programming and just want to set a simple screen showing every battery charge lvl or the whole battery pack charge status, instead of using the "v" key. thank you in advance for your answer
you can use the DashboardTool, each dashboard screen you add will take one channel, in the order you add them. So, you can create a dashboard directly on the battery (or anywhere really) connect it to the battery with data spool, and add three screens on it, the 3rd screen will be the state of charge, normalized between 0.0 and 1.0
@@Archean-space sweet thxn, didnt know you could connect the cable to them directly since there is no visual ports, was trying to figure the one haha :)
@@Shukinen connector is behind it. You can see it by going into Drone mode (F2) and clipping through objects
i paid 14 quid when are you gonna add amd support.
like i feel like all the features should come after because this is really important
working on it... but it's a AMD driver bug, I'm still trying to work around it.
This looks like a house, not a spaceship, lol.
So lame that i can't okay this game all bc i have a 6800 XT 😒
will there be 6DOF movement in microgravity or will it use the same "world absolute coordinate locked camera" like every single other space game out there? (except for Space Engineers with jetpack on and that one intro scene in Carrier Command 2)
fully 6-DOF when not feeling any gravity
@@Archean-space You sell this very well!
Are there plans to add the other planets and moons in the solar system?
of course!
@@Archean-space sounds awesome. I'll keep up with this. Looks promising
Stormworks but the devs actually care
I got really tired of that blocky/triangular building mechanics and many other builders too (like in stormworks or space engineers for example)... I wish the game had something like F3X building tool or CSE from Flyout which would make it much much more interesting since you would get no limits in shape/design modeling
I love that you added in the workshop ty so much very nice having it early on thank you loving the game! Im getting lots of my friends to want and get the game and so far they all like it!
Hmmm, ground effect. So an ekranoplan is possible?
Keep uploading more of your build to the workshop i take them apart and used some to get ideas to make my own. Also i take the code and use it to make my own your code is letting see examples of ways. I am no code junky but like 20 yrs ago i did some game making. So i can see some code parts and see what yr doing it helps me a ton. Ty so much keep up the greatwork.
One thing i saw i just loved how good the thrust burn looks so clean and great looking. I cant wait to start making those parts in game and mess around!
I love how you thought of all these things to have and got so much in early on ty for all your hard work! I love this game so much cant wait to how it grows up as it goes along!
How many panels does it take to max out the low voltage line if the panels are out putting a higher limit of each?
not a max but i was charging at 24kw 28x solar panel throught a power converter to a high voltage battery i wonder if the small bat has limit charging speed
@@buder5116 not sure i been seeing some odd things like i have a bunch of RTG's and if i take a part of them off and put them on there own they can charge faster so i dont know if there are limits on lines or what?
@@TecKnowFreak limit is nothing it depend on battery type port sending power from a high voltage battery to a high voltage battery through power converter then to another converter back to high voltage i got 980kw the limiting factor is the power port on battery recieving the power 50kw for Low Voltage Battery*math say 50kw High Voltage Battery *math say 5,000kw so go ahead and chain those solar panel up to 5,000kw if the recieving battery is a high voltage
I dont want to roast my RTX card, will there be an option to play without raytracing?
no, but performance is great don't worry about it
Is this game free? I LOVE logic simulators and stuff like this!
I read the description-
Nope but its on sale at steam right now under 20 its normal price like 20% off right now!
They got a crane and everything! omg, this sandbox/sim deservers more recognition
I am so thankful your game is native on linux
This feature might make sense for advanced players but you should really consider disabling it by default. Learning curve is already going to be significant in this game and getting stuck in a seat for example while repeatedly pressing the key you just used to sit down just feels buggy to new players. (I actually exited the game the first time I sat in a seat). There are already a lot of keys to remember and this nearly doubles it. You're probably used to it by now so it feels natural and advanced players might favor this hold-vs-toggle mode also but for new players it will be seen as a bug no matter how much you explain it. You're up against he thousands of other games that use a simple keypress to get in a seat and out of that seat. When inventory is shown, players will expect it to be clickable, etc.
Ye i remember trying to get out of my seat... It took a whole day
Is there a way you can transfer container items into the player's inventory?
You can walk up to one hit f key it opens up the container menu then u can shift click stacks to your inventory.
@@TecKnowFreak Thank you!
@William_5956 Np I found that out just the other day playing it myself.
Is there a passive pivot or hinge? Do they have a mode where they don't exert a force, but will accept an outside force? Like towing a trailer.
No, but you can tow a trailer using a cable
This is absolutely bonkers man. You are insane. I'm buying the game
I got it a few days ago its so addictive all i wanna do is just play this game its wild how good it is for its so new and so early in its early access.
I wish I had a GPU that could run this :/
What do you have?
@@TecKnowFreak best I have is builtin lol (Intel 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics vendor) stupid old. though I have 500 dollars of the 1k I need for a new gpu that will go with my desktop(old but quite good and can support the new gpus!)
@@user-iu1ft6xi1i i found for best over all drivers go with a 3rd gen nvidia and the prices are way better just get the higher ram on it like i got a 3090 24 gig it rocks hope u can get it sometime soon the game is tons of fun best of luck!
How is this not the biggest game on the internet right now
Fr
Well its brand new early access! Most are finding out about it from us few streaming it on twitch. I have got a bunch more into it from streaming it.
👀👀👀
👍👍👍
Is there any modeling of structural strength, or is anything is a perfectly and totally solid object, that never bend, can't break under loads and etc.?
no, all solid
s t u r d y legs
If you are trying to build a ground base on uneven terrain, how do you get a level platform started?
Hey. I'm new at this game. But you might try using a ground anchor then building around that?
Sadly i cant play this due to the requirements, such a cool game too
Need some plasma flames from re-entry friction ;)
