I don’t think I’ve ever commented on a KZread video before nor has a KZread video about building a woodworking bench made me cry. So I thought now is a better time then ever to give it a go. Also you have to wonder, what took longer for him to do? edit and carry out the change in design of the bench in this video. Or film and edit the video.
@vanislestudio17 сағат бұрын
Hi there Wesley and thank you so much for your kind comment ❤ and I'm honored this is one of your first ones :) To answer your question, the entire process took about 4 1/2 to 5 months and the design/build and the filming/editing and then creating plans... was all about equal in time. Glad you stopped in to say hi! Thanks so much for that :)

Quick question. Why did you use 2x4s instead of 4x4s for the legs? Thank you!
@vanislestudio17 сағат бұрын
2X4's were more readily available here, that's pretty much the reason. 4X4's would have taken less time, because there is no glue up required. Both are fine to use though and thanks for your question! Cheers

Where did you get the plywood you used on this project?

You know, our family tried several times to purchase a property there but was out bid each time, but that said, we like where we are now, across the straight from you :) Really cool that Busted Knuckles turned you on to me. Wow! The Plywood was from Windsor Plywood here in CR. Its Birch pre finished Plywood good 2 sides. They have a nice selection there. The Doug Fur was from Windsor Mill sales up the road. I spent a cold and wet winters day picking through the pile to find about 17 good ones. Took months and months to dry out. Thanks so much for stopping in and leaving your comment! Using a spiral downcut or compression bit would probably also help a lot with preventing the tearout, since it applies cutting pressure at an angle across the grain instead of flat into the ends of the fibers.
