  Worked at travel centers of america. We had a spindle guy. Those hub seals that turn into a spindle is a bad day. Truck takes up entire bay for 3-5 days.

  I purchased a used Chevy 2500HD from a Utility Company in the NE Wyoming area and was fortunate to get all the maintenance and repair records with it. From about 70K to 140K miles there were a lot of axle seal and e-brake shoe replacements on the Right Rear apparently due to constant Axle Seal Leakage. One of the rear axle repairs was over $1,000 and digging a little further it was due to replacing the spindle on one side. Whoever did this apparently did a quality job due the truck tracks straight and there hasn't been a leak since. I always wondered how they repaired that and your video explained it thoroughly. Thanks for taking the time to do this and I wish you were a lot closer to Los Angeles.

  This is beyond dumb. Literally it’s better to take breaks as needed so you don’t over work yourself and either injure yourself or someone else, or you fuck up the job and have to do more work. I grew up working carpentry with my dad and have been a mechanic for close to 10 years now for some reasoning to my insight, as well as the last shop I worked at I increased efficiency in my bays by about 33%. And anyone who’s gonna try to argue with me, you’re wrong, probably dumb, most likely a boot licker, and I’m definitely not gonna waste my time replying.

  I understand how important a service like this is! Field service like this saves a lot of headaches! But like other commenters, I want more information. The idea of aligning the brake flange to the spindle is pretty important. Would love to see how that’s done. I’m guessing there’s some kind of alignment tool that would bolt to that brake flange before tacking up the parts.

  Make you a suck bucket, using a 5 gal bucket and a shop vac and some tubing to get that oil out. Suck bucket works like the dentist vacuum device.

  That would be a brake spider. Not a spider gear, that would be in a differential.

  We put out a video the other day where the spindle broke off. The tires almost hit a car head on. Same company who did the poor welding did the one I'm talking about.
